==Overview:==
Armed with the knowledge that a lot of Heretic BattleMechs were packing
Missile Weapons that were ideally able to use a NARC missile system, Heretic
BattleMechs started the design of a platform that would mount the requisite
NARC Launchers.

Rather than develop a platform from scratch, Heretic BattleMechs contacted
Jalastar Aerospace in order to get the baseline designs of the well reknown
Javelin BattleMech.

The Aram was then born, named after the Spear of Jangar, a Mongol Hero.



==Capabilities:==
It was once said that the Javelin's main function was reconnaissance, though
it was also used extensively in ambushes. In that regard, the term "sneaky as
a Javelin" had become widespread among Mechwarriors throughout the Inner
Sphere.

The Aram builds on that Reputation. Numerous design compromises were made in
order to facilitate its Ambush and Support operation. The SRM-6 Packs were
replaced with NARC Beacon launchers with a ton of ammunition each.
Furthermore, the Engine was replaced with a 180 Light Fusion Engine -
initially designed to be an upgrade for Goblin IFVs.

The Center Torso jump jets were removed in order to make way for a Guardian
ECM system to help the Javelin remain undetected until its ready to ambush -
at which point, the paired NARC Launchers tag enemy BattleMechs for other NARC
equipped launcher mechs - such as the Leriae or Maskim.

Backup weapons are a pair of Medium Lasers mounted under the Aram's wrists,
and a Small Laser in a small mounting beside the cockpit.

Despite the chassis being upgraded to Endo Steel, the Aram still only packs
60% of the maximum armour for its size - exactly the same as the Javelin it is
derived from - Heretic BattleMechs being unable under license to significantly
modify the external apperance.

This also means that the Aram still shares the less-known problem of the
Javelin Series. With its torso-mounted missile racks and ammunition supply,
the 'Mech's center of gravity is too far forward when it is at full-load
displacement. This tends to make the machine somewhat top-heavy and prone to
falls while moving at high speeds in difficult terrain. (Treat this a +1 die
roll modifier for falling whenever a Javelin is running through woods, rough
terrain, or rubble).

Is it a good design? No, not really... But from hidden deployment with a
Shoot-and-Jump mentality, the Aram might just work as a Tagger 'mech.

It has the Javelin Charm, and the added benefit (for me) of being able to use
that Javelin Miniature I have lying around.

I had to toss up between NARC and iNARC, and chose NARC for its availability
more than anything... I'll probably make a dedicated iNARC BattleMech in the
coming times...

I kept the fluff bit about the Unbalanced. It would superficially look like a
Javelin, which means it would probably still act like one, too.
