I created this 'mech for my Grim Determination unit.

After a vicious fight against the Capellan Confederation, Colonel Halther got a hold of a Cyclops chassis and used salvage from a Goliath and a Quickdraw to create a new 'mech, which he dubbed the Snapper. This Snapper retains the shape and speed of the Cyclops, but adds bulkier armor and did away with the AC/20 to give the techs more space to work with. Its new main weapon is the Goliath's Rand PPC, backed up by the Delta Dart LRM 10. It retains its standard Hovertec Quad SRM 4 and adds a second one with an additional ton of ammo. Using the Quickdraw's Omicron 4000 medium lasers, it replaced the 2 Diverse Optics Type 20 medium lasers with 3 Omicron 4000 medium lasers for better targeting compatibility.
Overheating remains a nasty problem of the Snapper, but at ranges under 180 meters, Colonel Halther will rarely fire the PPC. He relies instead on the 3 medium lasers and 2 SRM 4s to deliver a nasty punch to anyone close to him.

Ok. A couple of questions since it is not listed in the stats.
Had to relook at the stats. it is a 3024 mech. I was going to ask if it had double heat sinks. No. too early in the time line.
Do the arms have hand actuators, or end in weapon ports?
I would say it appears a little undergunned, but that is the engine weight screwing with things.

Is it an oversight that the fluff says it has 2 srm 2's but the stats don't reflect this?

It is bordering on undergunned for its weight, BUT that being said, its effectively like a Banshee - If it has the full set of arm actuators, then its really a close range brawler... Omitting the two arm lasers for a pair of punches, sort of thing.

4/6 in a 90 Tonner can't be ignored if you're working in the 3025 timeline. I mean, I can't complain, the 3M Banshee was always one of my favourites.



Although, that being said, I miss KamikazeJohnson's SNP-2R Snapper.

Here is my rendition of the Snapper. Pretty much just a Cyclops, very few cosmetic changes. Based off of Jeff Laubenstein's Cyclops in FASAs scenario pack "First Strike" on page 33 and off of the CP-10-Z Cyclops on page 31 of FASAs 4th Edition "Introduction to Battletech"

It is my first time drawing in over 10 years, so I'm happy with it.

I like it. You have to have something to do with Cyclops once they lose their computer.
