------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The BET-H1X Beleth is a concept BattleMech designed by Heretic BattleMechs,
and is slated to go into Prototype mode once it clears simulation testing in
3075.

Designed as a short use, hunter-killer BattleMech, the Beleth is designed
around a light engine and a solid Endo-Steel Frame.

Although many may balk at the potential heat-output of the Beleth, this must
be measured against the idea that one does not slave in all weapons and pull
the trigger unless in the direst of circumstance.

==Capabilities:==
The Primary armament of the Beleth is 90 Hegemony Designed, but Dynamics built
Rocket tubes, short-wired into Racks of 15 for easy launching. The idea of use
for the Beleth is to exploit its above-average speed and manouverability to
get behind the enemy, before crippling him with a massive rocket burst.

If engaged in a long-term battle, or if the worst happens and its prey eludes
it, the Beleth does pack a hefty backup energy weapon payload - however all of
it is short ranged, and of the low-to-moderate power bracked. The Quartet of
Defiance B3M lasers are the mainstay, with a trio of Defiance B3S Small lasers
intended for use in exploiting holes in armour.

Regrettably, the Beleth does have a limited battlefield use. Intending to
diversify its usage, HereticBattleMechs insisted on the installation of a
NashanDiversified "Magician" class ECM suite to it - allowing it some
electronic Warfare capability within the urban environments it is intended to

be used.

==Variants:==
The Primary variant drops the Head mounted Small Laser, and a half ton of
armour, in order to upgrade the remaining two Small Lasers to Small Pulse
Lasers to assist with Anti-Infantry Fire.

Why bother with the small lasers?
The range you have to be in order to fire them, wouldn't it be worth it for another one shot rocket launcher for 2 of the small lasers, and maybe something else for the last one?

Not sure about critical space, but maybe take a page out of retry's book and put on a partial wing? Get some extra jumping room to get out once you fire the rockets? Maybe even help get into place with it.

Even a hatchet or axe might be worth it considering the purpose.

Eh, I'm not 100% sold on the Partial Wing yet... Especially since its only available later in the timeline - I try to keep the Majority of my designs around Start of the Jihad, rather than End, unless specifically mentioned.

The small lasers were tack-ons. I think I am preferring the listed variations - with small pulses for Anti-Infantry Work.

As for Criticals in this Incarnation. 2 left only.

Don't feel bad. I'm not fond of the partial wing myself.

One more thought comes to mind, though time line might screw with it. Targetting computer for the mls. Granted, it would cost 2 of the small lasers.

But only suggestions.

A 5/8/5 movement profile with a partial wing (Introduced in 3067) would push the jumping MP to 7 which would give an additional +1 to-hit modifier when maximizing your jumping distance.

6 rocket launchers could be somewhat useful against slow targets... once. I can't help but think that replacing them with two more medium lasers is the way to go, replacing heavy but inaccurate one-time rocket alpha strikes with a more conventional and reliable sustainable laser battery that's more than useful for more than one turn. Overall a more useful design with 4 extra tons and 10 freed crit spaces.

If you are a Member of Clan Jade Falcon.

R&D Start Date: 3061 (Jade Falcons [’Mech]), 3063 (Blood Spirits [ProtoMech])
Prototype Design and Production: 3067 (Jade Falcons [’Mech]),
3070 (Blood Spirits [ProtoMech])

Now, that being said, yes, they are Lyran Based, and those people share a Skirmish Border - but Heretic BattleMechs is mostly centered on the WoB combatants, ergo, I'm more likely to introduce iC3 than Partial Wings... It is purely a fluff-based personal preference.

It would indeed increase its jumping - and to hit - potential. But I also have a feeling that it has the potential to add an asthetic to the Beleth that I don't think is deserving.

That being said, there will be a partial winger (with the exception of the Erishkegal, which is a WTF-er that I blame on KamakazieJohnson anyway) coming at some stage... I just like making deliberately flawed battlemechs - some more than others.

Correction:Nothing wrong with designing for fluff (deliberate flawing)
Flaws are by definition issues with designs, something wrong.
