Overview:
The Kikimora is a design that should not exist. The Very thought that such an
abomination exists even on a drawing board somewhere makes the spirits of great
designers wail eternally in their graves.

Based on the venerable UM-R UrbanMech, the Kikimora was designed to attempt to
conform to the mythical unworkable - the QuadUrbieLAM...

The very fact that it actually works (albeit in a similar-to-UrbanMech way) is
frankly frightening.

Capabilities:
Despite being saddled with its parent BattleMechs slow speed, the complex
folding partial wing system almost doubles the jumping distance of the design.

Exceptionally stable on the ground, the original design of the Kikimora packs
the standard armament of its predecessor - the small laser being mounted beside
the cockpit instead of in the arm - which it no longer has.

Despite being a Quad design, the long-thick legs and the high-postore of the
domelike head makes the Kikimora a difficult prospect to pilot, reflected with
its much-more-cramped than usual command chair.

Variants:
An LB variant of the autocannon, with a redistribution of the heat sinks, would
allow a doubling of the ammunition - as well as the ability to have both
cluster and slug ammo.

Other standard "upgrade" theorum applies - Light Gauss Rifle, Ultra Autocannon,
Light Autocannon, etc.

Looks cool. But I am not big on the whole wing stuff, to me that belongs on the levels of Robotech or at the very least left to the domain of battlearmor.

Overall you have a 30 ton Hollander with two extra legs.

The Myth of the QuadUrbieLAM - the single-worst design/concept ever - was too much for me to not take a stab at.

Maybe that itself is a stab at the Partial Wing - I don't like it either - and perhaps its just too *good* in a way - I mean, it improves a QuadUrbanMech to the point its pretty well almost useable.

hey now. Any unit is usable.

Targets for target practice comes to mind.
A designers way to do their work and get paid for nothing.
A way to get rid of the political officers in the unit.
Keep the company in money selling it to the uneducated.

And the best.
A good example of a bad example.

Honestly, this might be a good unit for rapid response Get to a point faster then any land based unit. Load it up with explosives and crash into the enemies drop ship.. Which by the way, might be a better use for it as a drone then a pilot in the mech.

Battlemech partial wing systems are not any stranger than WiGE vehicles. I'd also like to note that the LAM and the Partial Wing are two very different systems.

I would've said, "Partial Wings aren't weirder than LAMs," but point taken.

considering where alot of the pictures for the early mechs came from, the lam would appear to be the lesser brother fo the veritech fighter.

With the WiGE, it is another system I am not really fond of.
Sounds too much like an official way of cheating.
It and the partial wing gives a unit more movement then it should. I would think rocket packs and other disposable systems should have come out by now, including dispoable coolant tanks to help rid a mech of heat that actually works for more then just one shot.
Even the held shield sounds alot like extra disposable armor.
Why not just get it over with and move to the mega damage armor that only mechs can use and remove the entire vehicle line up from the game?

Guess this should be put in another thread...
