(not sure if the preferred design format applies to fighters, so...)
Code:

Bodyguard RF-20
Tonnage: 20
Chassis: Forward-Swept Wing, Standard chassis
Thrust/Overthrust: 6/9
Engine: VOX 80 Light
Fuel Points: 240 (3 tons)
Armor: 4 tons of Ferro-Aluminum armor
Armor configuration:
Nose: 20
Left/Right: 20/20
Aft: 12

Structural Integrity: 6

Heat Sinks: 10 (20) Double Heat Sinks

Weapons:

Light PPC (Left wing): 3 tons
Light PPC (Right wing): 3 tons
ER Medium Laser (Nose): 1 ton
ER Medium Laser (Nose): 1 ton

Blurb: Use as a recon/patrol fighter, may not be fast but has decent weapons and range. Maybe refit by dropping the ER Mediums to put capacitors on the PPC's.

Interesting design. I wonder how forward-swept wings would handle during reentry. Hypersonic aerodynamics are weird.

Regarding the PPC capacitors, I think I'd stick with ER medium lasers. This isn't a design that can survive a slugging match, or more than a couple of turns of weapons fire. I'd want as many chances to hit in a brief exchange as possible and get a crit or control roll rather than trying to depend on a smaller number of heavier hits. Like vehicles, it's better for fighters to hit often rather than hard.

The formatting is clear enough.

'kay, thanks for the feedback. If I made it faster it would be really nasty if I gave it a few arrays of ER Smalls.

Not really you would just be a fast target. You would have little chance to be within an affective range enough to be useful.

I would say use ER Mediums. One medium does about the same damage as a small but at a far greater range.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!
