Well, all the ammo is in one spot... And at least you've bulked out that torso with the LB cannon to try to soak up any crits that get in there...

I'm really, really not a fan of XL's on anything that has multiple tons of ammunition, but that's personal, anyway.

ER PPC and LB/10 are always a nice strike, and a bank of pulse lasers and Medium-pack SRMs is nice striking power on a 5/8/- mover.

Kar,

I like it as a 3050s mech. I have a distinct dislike of XLs, but I could see the Worlders putting them in anything they could to sell to the Clan facing powers.

Need some ideas for variants, thinking Light Gauss in place of the LBX.

Trading the LB 10-X for a LRM 20 with 3 tons ammo is a perfect fit both tons and crits. Better long range, still within existing heat control.

Question...you have the crits for Light Ferro Fibrous, which boosts your armour by 12 points. Is there a reason for not using it? Could be a "premium" variant.

The issue of a LRM-20 replacing a LB 10-X is two things. First a LRM has a min range where the LBX does not, second you don't have that one ten point hit to help penetrate the armor so you can get crits. Now in favor of the LRM-20 you can do more damage. As for a light gauss rifle I am quite bias in favor of the LGR or GR over any other ballistic weapon to be able to give a fare assessment.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

OTOH, the Terminator has abundant firepower inside 6 hexes, but is relatively weak at longer range. Not only does the LRM 20 improve overall range and damage, it also allows IDF and a wide range of ammo types.

The LGR replaces the LB 10-X with a similar type of weapon, trading damage for range, but doesn't really add much difference to the design, other than equipment availability and pilot preference.

Still, either makes for a logical variant.

I would not call a ER PPC weak

The LRM20 idea I think would happen. It would be seen as a variant by a commander some where.

When you absolutely have to hit everyone in front of you (including your allies) LRM Swarms lol.

Nice design. I am not a fan of of the LBX AC, but each to his own. As for ammo, I wouldn't stress. If the match isn't over in twenty rounds you have larger issues.

The LRM-20 idea really reminds me of the UM-WTF UrbanMech variant from the short story Where are those LRMs coming from?
