It's always annoyed me that there are no lighter tanks with AC/10s, as the lightest MBT-style tank is the Po or for a Hover the Gladius. So, here's a simple design to fill the gap. Twice as heavy as the Scorpion but with twice the gun as well.

What about the Tiger T-12? Granted it has less armor.

The tiger a battletech tank, or a real tank ported over?
I don't know all the units that were posted here, so I am sure others don't as well.

One nitpick thing is the scorpion is 25 tons. This is not quite double the weight.

Still looks usable.

It is kind of sad mg ammo can only be half ton for smallest amount. 100 shots is very unlikely to ever be used in most combats. Not like a quarter ton would do much.
If you used fractional accounting, this along with controls and a little weight shaved from the turret, you might fit a little more armor, but oh well.

No, Tiger T-12 is a tank from the Age of War, light armor, 5/8 move, AC/10.

Oh yeah I'd forgotten the Tiger. I think I have been using the Tiger occasionally but sometimes I don't find Tiger in the list of vehicles for whatever program I'm using so I think that's part of why I don't often use it. And honestly using a program like HMV to find vehicles is sub-optimal. Because "Level 1" rules to find 3026 tanks actually leaves out a lot of tanks which use "level 3 construction" rules. And you can't sort it by year either because that leaves out retro-tech or some vehicles aren't listed in the proper years. Big pain in the arse. SAW is around and might be better but it doesn't print two vehicles per sheet so I never use it. There's no miniature for the tiger either.

But recently I wanted a wheeled vehicle with an AC/10 because I like the idea of something similar to the AEC Armoured Car used by the British which used the same guns as the tanks did.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEC_Armoured_Car

I find there are a lot of potential vehicle types which don't exist in battletech. Like a smaller, tracked tank or wheeled tank with a Gauss rifle for example. Like what is the smallest, IS tracked tank with a Gauss? The rommel? Turreted Gauss I mean. I want a battle tank, not a tank destroyer (Hetzer-style). I guess the Demon is lighter but I've used the Demon so many times already. Speaking of the Demon, 2750 TRO is actually very disappointing for light & medium vehicles, they have so many throw-away helicopters and hovers (2 OS SRM-4s on the Lightning??). More recently they've added some AoW vehicles like the Marsden and Merkava but as much as I love those tanks they still pack plinky AC/5s. So yeah I'd like some more, lighter tracked&wheeled vehicles with heavier ballistic guns and thus I end up designing them myself most of the time for use in our campaign.

My vehicle might be a bit over-armoured, I can probably put some more guns on there. I just tend to default to those sort of armour levels when I design a tank for whatever reason. If I drop a bit of armour could get it up to 5/8 as well. Though if I'm trying to be thematic with the vehicle I should probably at least match the Vedette for armour.

I'd honestly go with a fusion engine and install a large laser instead of an AC, since they still need to be light enough to be useful.

Yeah a fusion-variant could be an upgrade but this is intentionally supposed to be cheap, low tech, ICE-type.

Plus for Large Laser-equipped tanks, there's already the Goblin, the Bulldog, the Chevalier, the Korvin and the Turhan so I don't really see an absence of suitable vehicles to use.

It is stupid the cost of a large laser is half of the ac 10.

But it is nice to see some one trying to use ammo weapons again.
So the use for this vehicle would be escort of important people in a city, when mechs not available?
