I'm not sure if they have changed it but I don't think you can split up the critical slots of a targeting computer in the same or different locations.

To my knowledge, tcs can be placed anywhere on the mech. Unlike artemis, they don't have to be the same location as the weapon.
Though the limits of the tc with ultra and lbx means it might not be worth the extra weight to use them. Non cluster, or single shot fire can use the tcs, while cluster or multi shot can not. The range and weight of the cannons is the only advantage with using them, and since clans don't use normal weapons, I seriously doubt they would use a normal ac 2.
