Feeling nostalgic, so I started transcribing my old TDB files into SSW. Here's one from way back (2002 I believe...) for a design challenge Karagin ran.

1 LRM-10
1 ER Medium Laser
1 Medium Pulse Laser

2 ER Small Lasers
Manufacturer: Unknown
Primary Factory: Unknown
Communications System: Unknown
Targeting and Tracking System: Unknown

Overview:
The CBN-2C Cambion is the latest attempt by the
unsuccessful-yet-still-ambitious designers from Johnson 'Mechworks Inc. In
response to SLDF contract #4590-A, the Cambion design was thrown together and,
if selected, will represent the first JMInc. design to actually see production.
The 'Mech's rather simple design and abundant auxiliary weapons systems allow
for a variety of minor variants to optimize it for battle- or pilot-specific
preferences. (Warning to testers: the so-called "working prototype" is not
nearly as "working" as it appears. The ER Medium laser was scavenged from a
battlefield after more than a year exposed to the elements, the LA medium laser
is as likely as not to short out, disabling the central targeting system, and
the LRM-15, while impressive-looking, is actually a replica shell built into
the torso, since JMInc. was unable to aquire one for real) Since there is
currently no production facility, the factory, when built, can be outfitted to
accomodate whatever makes and models of equipment requested by the SLDF.

Capabilities:
The CBN-2C Cambion is a surprisingly versatile 'Mech. The odd-looking
mismatched LRMs provide substantial long-range fire, and the mixed bag of
lasers are likely to discourage many light 'Mechs from closing inside the LRMs'
minimum range. Heat buildup is negligible unless the LRMs are fired at close
range, and even then, a single Alpha Strike is unlikely to cause severe heat
problems. The 'Mech is designed without lower arms, allowing the four
arm-mounted lasers to be fired to the rear if necessary. The designers opted
against incuding CASE in the main design, but risk of an ammo hit is
slight--the LRM-10 ammo is very difficult to hit in the head, while the limited
supply of LRM-15 rounds are likely to be spent before the 'Mech starts taking
critical damage. However, many design variants can incorporate CASE, as
described below. The biggest drawback of the design is its limited long-range
endurance, but the Cambion's good speed, heavy armor, and impressive
short-range abilities can keep it an effective fighter right to the end.

Variants:
Being only in the prototype stage, the CBN-2C Cambion has many potential
variants which can be incorporated before the 'Mech rolls off the assembly
line. One of the more promising variants, the 2L, removes the CT Pulse Laser
and adds Artemis IV FCS to each of the missile racks. This increases its punch
at long range, but at a substantial cost. The proposed 2M variant eliminates a
major worry by adding CASE to protect the LRM ammo in the LeftTorso, and also
provides some anti-infantry support by replacing the Pulse Laser with a pair of
Machine Guns (CT/RT). The 1/2 ton of ammo is placed in the newly-enCASEd Left
Torso. The 3J plan also removes the Pulse Laser, this time adding jump
capability up to 120 metres. There are other possible variations as well, most
trading the CT lasers for CASE (LT), light lasers, and electronics, such as a
C3 slave computer. The resulting drop in heat from the removal of the CT
lasers allows the upgrade, if desired, of the arm-mounted mediums to the more
potent ER models.

MY BLURB:
Not much to say about this one, other than to address a few design oddities.
1) Actuators. No particular reason to omit them, but the Arm Flip ability is useful, and the arm-mounted weapons reduce the desirability of punches.
2) Low ammo supply. Mainly a by-product of the design purpose; the Cambion is expected--and intended--to be in the thick of the fighting, where it will be using the Lasers mostly. The LRMs provide versatility when approaching primary engagement range or attempting to bring down a fleeing enemy.
3) CASE. Addressed in the Variants section. Many possible ways of working it in if desired.

I would figure with the double sinks, all the mls would be er styles with the mpl staying just like it is.
And since one of them is listed, the excuse of not being available at the time doesn't work.

Another suggestion would be maybe drop the pulse or the 2 ersls with one other laser and increase the lrm10 to a 15.
Or drop the 15 to a 10 and use the tonnage for something else. Another pulse or maybe some more ersls just for some thought.
An ams to help protect against missiles as it closes is another idea.
Granted a tag or c3 would do wonders for this and any units with it.

Mainly Heat. In the listed configuration, the Cambion is heat-neutral with a walk at close range. Upgrading to ERMLs would make it +4 with a walk once you're in range for the ER Smalls. And I definitely wouldn't advise standing still for long in the middle of a pitched battle. Although using ERMLs could be interesting if I use the available crit space for TSM.
A decent additional variant though would be to trade the pair of ER Small Lasers for a single Small (X-) Pulse Laser for anti-Infantry, and upgrading the MLs to ERMLs.

Plus I like the "mixed bag of lasers" idea. Cause JMInc. is quirky like that.

The mis-matched LRMs was actually a key concept I wanted to work with on this design. True, a matching pair makes ammo allocation much better, but that also makes it painfully similar to a Trebuchet.

It did well from what I recall. In fact several of the design challenges I came up with ended up getting a good testing with my group. The amount of effort we put into the battles showed very well the amount thought and effort put into a lot of the designs. Good times. Man, wish I had more time for those kinds of weekend battles.
