A sad thought came to me while thinking of the ac's punching power.
The armor used in the game provides no more protection then the building materials used in the universe.
With the exception of hardened armor, the cf of a building takes damage at the same rate as armor. Doesn't matter if it is light, medium, heavy or hardened, they take damage all the same.

Now is it just me or does this sound wrong?
Shouldn't the armor on units protect better then a buildings walls?
And not this is not talking specially reinforced walls that are designed to resist damage, but the ones you get in a motel on the road.

Maybe I missed something.

You missed - essentially - "density".

Armour points are abstract to represent how much punishment such things can take...

I mean, we know how much damage can basically be absorbed by a Ton of Armour... 8 Points.

But a light structure, with all of its 10 CF and such... May weight *MUCH* more than 1 Ton on its own. I mean, I'm sure the Average Motel would weight a few tons of construction material over every 30 square meters or so.

So Armour is our baseline for material density in that capacity... And buildings - certainly light ones - don't much stack up in comparison...
