I literally have a bunch of these sitting around...

This is one of 2 attempts at making a viable heavy 'mech with an XL Engine. Same 300XL as the Mad Dog. Just a Trooper 'Mech. Expensive too.

This one has quirks. Non-functional Item [Dumper], Fast Reload, Difficult to Maintain, Battlefists, Non-Standard Parts, Improved Targeting [Long], Multi-Trac, Cramped Cockpit, Improved Life Support, Jettison-Capable Weapon [ Medium Shield ], Poor Cooling Jacket [ ER Large Laser ].

So, this is made by my pseudo company Stormy Industries, at MilitTech MechWorks on Hesperus II. Our history is some guy, named Storm One walked in to Defiance Industries Corporate HQ, said he saved the world from bugs once, and they gave him a job. Probably because he was crazy. That guy... wasn't me. Totally.

Anyways, the Ironman is a Heavy 'Mech built around the failings of an XL Engine. namely their liability to be easily destroyed with a Side-Torso hit. The concept was to exaggerate the role of a Heavy 'Mech, which was to take lots of damage, dish lots of damage out, and remain combat functional. To this end, the 300XL's speed was used to compensate for the weight of a Medium Shield, while a pair of MiliTech LightfootHD JumpJets aid in navigating rough terrain.

Ten and a half tons of Battlefield Enterprises TactiPLUS Mk.3 Ferro-Fibrous armor provide good defense for a 60-Tonner, while a Rebel Solutions Incorporated Weatherman AMS provides further defense from indirect fire. A CASE Protected MiliTech Qwikswap Magazine houses both the AMS ammo, and the 2-Tons of MML5 ammo.

For armament, the Ironman carries a Death Designer Customs Lightlance Type 2 ER Large Laser, as well as a Rebel Solutions Inc. St. Harold Snub Nose PPC. A Death Designer Customs Layman Series 5-Rack Multi-Missile Launcher provides both long and short range missile capabilities for capitulating on armor breaches. Alongside the Shield, which is a formidable weapon unto itself, the Ironman carries a Retractable Blade and Battlefists, making it an exceptional melee combatant for it's weight class.

Of all the things noteworthy about the Ironman from it's concept to it's role, perhaps the most interesting is it's actual construction. The laser it mounts in the right arm uses a special reinforced housing to prevent it from being damaged or misaligned during melee, but this creates issues with cooling the weapon. While MiliTechs famous "Qwikswap" uses repurposed Ammo Dumpers to greatly expedite the rearming process, this comes with the drawback of having said Ammo Dumpers to become nonfunctional after reloading as a result.

The great lengths taken to compact, compress and just generally compensate for the XL's deficiencies also resulted in many components have non-standard measurements, as well as making the 'Mech much more time-consuming to repair. Another issue was a cramped cockpit, although this was slightly alleviated by MiliTech's well known cooling systems. As a rule of thumb, MiliTech is known for either making too small cockpits, or too roomy cockpits. And as a result have perfected the cooling element of the Life Support systems. Leg room or not, it's always frigid.

The 'Mechs weapons are mated to a MiliTech Longscope Multi-trac Targeting System and uses a Battlefield Enterprises Soapbox 200 rev.4 "Sheriff Dandy" for detection and communications. Intriguingly enough, although the 'Mech was a flop in terms of sales to Great Houses, it proved popular among Solaris pilots for it's drop capable shield and flexible ammo reserves.
