So, the punishment for the Scientists was to design a 'Mech, then use it battle with the Thrasher against all of the ilKhans present at what would came to be known as "The Bean Incident" They came up with the Punisher.
The Punisher ironically was an excellent dueling 'Mech, and became popular with garrsion forces, solahma units, and use in Trials alike. The rear-facing weapons and flexible direct-fire weapons made this 'Mech and effective fighter in any environment.
After the crushing defeat of the Scientists, the ilKhans proclaimed this 'Mech, and the Thrasher their gift to all Clans. The rules of the design were it had to be under 60-tons and follow zelbrigen tradition.

The placement of rear weapons is odd for clans. Granted time frame is key here. Initial invasion, there would be no need for rear weapons, as they liked the long range fights. I don't know the later years, but from reading the novels, it sounds like they adopted alot of the innerspheres tactics.
The mech itself looks usable, though the lbx might be a little heavy for not that much benefit.
It is odd to see a 55 tonner without jets. Not a bad thing, but some would think all light and medium mechs should have them.
