The Balefire is a design I made just to see if it were possible; it rocks four Inner Sphere heavy PPC's with capacitors. And with a Radical Heat Sink and as many double freezers as it can have room for, it can actually fire them regularly! Firing all four of the Heavy PPC's while the capacitors are charged puts you at 14 on the scale even if the radical freezer is on, a bit scary but manageable with volley fire. 19 tons of armor makes this design actually viable, but it is best used by a clairvoyant thermodynamics wizard (so as to perfectly anticipate what and when to charge, shoot, or cool down.) so recruiting a pilot should be easy, right?

Capable of dealing out 80 points of damage, in four 20 point chunks, only a couple other designs can manage something like that, and they are cannon/gauss boats. Whereas this thing can shoot forever; if the radical burns out you are forced down to volley fire, but you can still shoot. I'd say there is no risk of ammo explosions, and there isn't as far as rolling for them due to high heat, but a penetrating crit that hits a charged capacitor still causes a (small) explosion that could still take out the mech if one is unlucky.

Love ppcs.
I does feel like a heavier version of the warhawk/masakari omni mech.
More damage, no lrms, but I am assuming less range then the clan erppc version of it.
Still a nice mech to have and use.

Even without the capacitors, you still are doing some great damage and not overheating the unit.
I can see this being a popular mech with front line units that use assaults. No ammo reloads meaning only armor damage would send you back to base.
