Basically, you show up, turn your back to the enemy and start shooting. Maybe while walking away. I thought to myself, "What use could I find for rear-facing weapons?" and this is it.
Just for hahas; although a robot with frontbutt is kinda funny.

The only viable rear-facing armament I could figure out for a mech is actually a very improvised one:
An entire squad of powered armor, magnetically clamped to the rear of your mech, and under standing orders to fire on anything that gets behind you.
It would violate Zellbrigen, but having a point of friendly elementals magclamped to the rear of my OmniMech at all times would make me feel a lot safer.

Rear firing weapons mainly give you something to try and scare off an attacker when you make a mistake and let someone get in the rear arc. The +1 to hit if you fire it as a secondary target doesn't help much. Though someone I know always had the 55 ton machine gunner mech sliding in his back side, so he put 2 rear firing ac 20's. Not bright, but he wasn't smart enough to use some patience and wait for a init, especially when he know the persons movements.

I don't get this design, even if it's meant to be for laughs. You basically flipped around the front side of the mech, so you could run away while firing those LRMS - armor is beefed up so you could take a few back shots. Honesty, I think you could make this design a bit more realistic by using a turret or maybe arm equipped LRMs with no hand actuators (for Hyper-Extending Actuator quirk - jump jets would be a plus allowing you flexibility with difficult terrain/situations.

Only thing that would be even less sensible would be using Semi-Guided 'Mech Mortars and a TAG in this build, and adding MASC.

Megaman walking with Hollywood explosions in the background? I get what your trying to say, but that can be accomplished with any mech and a pyrotechnic expert. Rear firing LRM's at an enemy unit might not be as impressive if it's your mech that goes all Hollywood explosion.
