MY BLURB: Inspired by the UAC thread. A fairly straightforward upgrade of the Enforcer. DHS, drop one, Endo Steel. Upgrade to UAC/10, ER Large Laser, Small Pulse Laser, add second ton of AC ammo, remaining tonnage to armour.
Like the original. it's designed for quick brawls rather than lengthy campaigns; the Ultra Autocannon allows this version to deal out an impressive amount of firepower so long as ammo supply lasts and the UAC doesn't jam. Even with a jammed/empty AC, the ER Large Laser provides reasonable long range supporting fire, allowing it to support lancemates or cover its own retreat.
IMHO, this is the general type of design that is best suited to the UAC/10; the Heat output generally makes a Gauss Rifle more desirable on heavier designs. A GR substitution here would be a reasonable variant (possibly drop the SPL), but the tradeoffs between the two weapons really stand out. Thoughts?

Nice job, well balanced and not to over the top in that you kept the feel of the Davion love affair with ACs and the need to keep the mech in the fight without having just one main weapon system.

MY BLURB Variant on the 7U model; drop the extra DHS, trade the UAC/10 for a Gauss Rifle. Drop the CASE for extra ammo.
Comparing these models, it's hard to justify the UAC over the Gauss Rifle. The Gauss has slightly higher average damage (15 vs 14.16); factoring in jam probability, they have roughly the same staying power. Much better heat control for the 7V; ability to jump and fire without heat buildup. Only advantage the UAC/10 has is maximum potential damage.
Perhaps with a Standard Large Laser or a different weapon like an LRM 10, the two variants would compare more evenly. As much as I want to like the UAC, it's very hard to find a non-fluff way to justify using it.

I can see a lance using these together. Both would be very welcome in House Davions forces.

The more I look at this design, the more I like the UAC/10 in this instance. Sure, the numbers look better with the Gauss Rifle, with better range, less heat, and no jam issue, but the UAC has higher potential damage, and less chance of a crippling explosion (2 crits spaces of ammo, quickly reduced to 1) vs 7 crits of explosive Gauss Rifle) and no minimum range. Plus it saves 1 ton, and fits better fluff-wise with the original design.
