It depends a bit on whether you are going to use the old boxed set 'Mech dueling rules or basically the standard Battletech rules but in a Solaris VII setting. If the former, you are going to run so hot as to be almost immediately crippling. If the latter, you're still going to run hot but you will be a little better off and should be able to capitalize on physical combat with the TSM. The Mace and Shield definitely fit the Solaris theme.
