The Hammer is a very heavily modified OverLord drop ship. Who built it and how Assinine Industries got their hands on it is unknown but there are many unsupported theories on who built it, for what reason, and how Assinine Industries ended up getting their hands on it. It is quite accepted the it was not the Federated Suns who supplied it to Assinine Industries as the solar system that Assinine Industries controls is only one jump away from a quite a few under-protected worlds that are within the Federated Suns territory and the ship poses a major threat to said worlds. Assinine Industries commercial jump ships pass through some of the systems on a regular basis to transport their war machines that are sold to the entire Enter Sphere. If any of the great houses, Word of Blake, Comstar, or the Wolfs in Exile know anything of where the ship came from or how Assinine Industries got it they are not talking. The one thing that everyone knows for certain is that Assinine Industries did not build or modify it them self's as Assinine Industries does not have the technical ability to do it them self's.

The Hammer is not all that remarkable over the Overlord A3 with the exception that she has even more massive amount of its weight directed towards its interior structure and the massive amount of armor protection that it can support and also that the ship is armored with Clan Ferro-Aluminum armor. There are a good number of warships that do not support the amount of armor protection that the Hammer has protecting it.

Its believed that Assinine Industries does not really want to use the ship in battle if it is at all possible as it would be extremely difficult for Assinine Industries to get their hands on any real quantity of replacement Clan Ferro-Aluminum armor. Its commonly accepted that the ship is for anti-warship operations. That would explain the capital missiles and the way over the top armor protection.

This ship was never designed for long patrols. The ships Achilles heel is its light fuel load for a ship that has such a high burn rate in combat and fourteen fighters to support. It has to stay very close to a base for resupply. If the ship is needed to go on a long patrol it will need to be accompanied by a fuel shuttle that can refuel the ship.

If Assinine Industries was invaded by a fleet protected by a light warship the most likely tactic that Assinine Industries would use is to let the dropships land and then have the Hammer and the three Leaperd CV's launch their thirty two combined heavy fighters loaded with arrow IV Anti Ship missiles. As a first strike the fighters would launch the anti-ship missiles then the heavy fighters would be used as a screening of any fighters that the war ship might be carrying. Then the Hammer using its five and a half G max thrust would try to close onto the warship as fast as possible. The Hammer would want to close to short range so it could maximize its non capital weapons against any capital weapons that the warship might be carrying. The battle would come down to who can bash who the hardest in the shortest amount of time. To help the Hammer in the fight with a warship all of the Hammers weapons are connected to targeting computers.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.
