EDIT:

-- Desginer's Notes:

--- The 'Super Galvenhawk' or the GVLN-HWK-S or just "the S variant" is a 3060 Clan Invasion pre-Civil War esq refit of the original 2525 Galvenhawk. Effectively the loreish-ness of this would be that during the Clan Invasion 'Mechs were at a premium giving how the Clans were roflstomping everyone with losses, casualties and attrition as far as the eye could see, so the Galvenhawk was dusted off and a variant was conjured up to not only solve it's inherent problems with the new technology available to the Inner Sphere, but to improve on it in every way. As for the fate of this project... Well, "We succeeded..."

--- The biggest change from the original GLVN-HWK model was the use of Double Heat Sinks. This drastically lowered the tonnage required to achieve the same ( Indeed, better ) cooling than the 2525 design, freeing up tonnage for extra armor and beefier weapons. That said, the original engine was retained and as such the mobility issues along with it. However, with the extra cooling came a slew of sweeping changes to the armament, namely the change to a trio of ER Medium Lasers to replace the standard ones as well as upgrading the LRM-15 to an LRM-20.

--- Along with all the new tonnage, better firepower and thirteen and a half tons of Standard Armor to protect it all came the additional critical space that the Double Heat Sinks freed up. With this a TAG was able to be mounted, further augmenting and complimenting the 2525's original quirkiness, while the AC/20 and it's anemic ammo reserves were replaced with an LB-20X AC. This alongside the change to ER versions of it's Medium Lasers drastically and effectively improved it's range profile, even if 2-tons of ammo is only less anemic of a supply for the LB-20X AC.

--- The 'Super Galvenhawk' also mounts a Guardian ECM System to further offset it's mobility issues, while CASE helps to preserve the 'Mechs combat integrity in the event of a Right Arm Ammo Explosion. Overall, the GLVN-HWK-S is an improvement in every way, however it is still essentially the same Chassis, and as such there are notable design similarities. The Head mounted AC/20 Magazine is retained, but utilizing it would require a reconfiguration of the TAG and the LB-20X AC and would suffer the same problem as the original 2525's shoulder mounted LRM magazine. This effectively renders it dead critical space as it prohibits mounting anything in the Head. Speaking of which, the LRM-20 has the exact same magazine feed as the LRM-15 before it ( and it's father before it ), rendering the problem of an ammo crit shearing off the arm and stopping additional ammo varieties from being mixed regardless of any extra tonnage being dedicated to them.

NOTE: The LB-20X AC's CASE-protected feed has and can utilize mixed ammo loads, with one ton
Standard and One ton Cluster shot being the primary ammo config.
