Last one for tonight, I promise...

The Amphibious Jump Jet is an experimental technology, invented by Clan Sea Fox scientists and engineers, and first seeing action (live tests) in the Solaris arenas. Roughly 50% heavier than a standard Jump Jet (rounded up to the nearest half-ton), it combines the functionality of both Standard Jump Jets and Underwater Maneuvering Units, functioning equally well in both environments. When mounted in the legs, they can even be used just fine while in Depth 1 Water, treating it as if it were clear terrain both for the purposes of jumping, and for all forms of ground movement.
In spite of the increased mass, the volume of the Amphibious Jump Jet is no greater than a conventional Jump Jet, and for this reason it can be used on Land 'Air Mechs.
It is unknown if a ProtoMech version, Vehicular version or Extended version will ever enter development, but there is no evidence to suggest that it couldn't happen.

Interesting, and plausible - the electrically-driven compressors of a jump jet would be able to pump water, if inefficiently. I like it.

You know what would make the pumps more efficient?
Modeling them after cardiac muscles, and constructing them out of Triple Strength Myomers. They'd always operate at maximum efficiency because of their close proximity to such an intense source of heat.
