------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Pandur is an ultralight Clan Tankette loosely inspired by the Ontos (the real one).

The Pandur is a simple, minimalist designed to be as cheap as possible. Originally envisioned as a lightweight, inexpensive fire support vehicle for Clan Solahma units, the Pandur is equipped with a sextuplet of LMGs which are apt to shred unarmored infantry rapidly and cheaply. However, due to its thin armor and very deadly punch, it more frequently finds itself in a riot-control position firing on the servicing clan's own restless citizens and has developed an infamous reputation from its own citizens as a result.

The vehicle itself is pretty versatile for a 10-ton light, being impressively configurable for a non-omni vehicle. Because it's so cheap and easy to produce, there are a massive number of factory configurations and field modifications that have been done on Pandurs. The number of "variants" that Pandurs have been modified with is so massive that it's impractical to try to count every single instance and configuration that has ever been used, so only the most significant ones are shown.

Quick question are you revisiting old AFV ideas for a $1000? as in you are going for nostalgia or do you think that tankettes will be reborn and work in the 31st and 32nd Centuries?

Judging by the fluff, some suggested design quirks:
Distracting + Bad Reputation
These two quirks mean that it can easily demoralize rioters, but it is also unpopular among the people who actually use it.

Easy to Maintain
Modular Weapons
Fast Reload: When being reloaded, this can be done twice as quickly due to the entire thing being so easy to take apart.
Rugged: Can go longer between maintenance cycles.

All five of these are indicative of low cost and easy repairs and customization, and don't actually affect battlefield performance.

Now a couple of variants that might be good:
- Rocket Launcher: Rocket Launcher 10s can provide a decent range and amount of firepower for their weight and cost, though they can't be reloaded very easily and are unfortunately unguided.
- Fuel Cell: Trading some of its fuel economy for a lighter, cooler running engine. In the places where it is likely to be deployed, hydrogen might be less expensive than fossil fuels, so the increased cost of building a fuel cell could be offset by reduced fuel costs.
- Primitive Armor: Not technically a variant so much as a rushed, ad-hoc modification. This variant trades the military grade armor for cheaper industrial grade armor, which can quickly and cheaply fabricated at repair facilities.

...Yes?

I wanted something that looked vaguely similar to the Ontos as well as something that was practical. I've already made some seriously impressive ultralights/tankettes a while back, so they're definitely viable, if not canonical.
