The Setting: For whatever reason, the Clans invade the Inner Sphere much, much earlier in 2850, in the middle of the Second Succession War. These clans lack much of the clan-spec equipment that they had in the original universe's clan invasion like cERLLs and cERPPCs, but instead have everything that was available to them during the Star League as well as some of the interim equipment like prototype LB-X and Ultra Autocannons, and Improved variants of lasers.
Design Parameters:
The Clans have the lightweight and compact clan-spec XLE, Ferro-Fibrous, Endo-Steel, and Double Heat Sinks available for their designs. Any non-military clan equipment that was available before 2850 is also fair game (Like the clan CASE, clan ECM suite or clan Active Probe)
However, they lack the advanced versions of clan equipment like the famously efficient cER Medium Laser.
What they do have available are the following:
All Intro-Tech weapons (ex: Medium Laser) All Star-League Era weapons (ex: LB-10X AC, UAC/5, ER Large Laser) "Early Improved Clan Equipment" from I-Ops Pg.95 (Ex: Improved Large Laser) "Early Clan Prototype Systems" from I-Ops Pg.97 (Ex: ER-CP Medium Laser) The 250kg Clan Machinegun and 500kg Clan Flamer (Ok, so slight exception to the "no clanspec weapons", but these shouldn't impact much.)
Unit Type:
Any unit type that follows the parameters can potentially be submitted, including Battlemechs and any vehicle motive type.

I expect lots of stolen Interim Timber Wolves to make their way 'round. The interim Clan tech would also be a lot easier for the Inner Sphere to reverse-engineer... when they're not busy beating the frak out of eachother and blasting eachother back to the Stone Age with nukes, that is.
Behold, though: The Clan UrbanMech!
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Interim UrbanMech UM-WTF IIC Base Tech Level: Experimental (Clan) Level Era Experimental - Advanced - Standard 2850+ Extinct 2850+ Tech Rating: F/X-F-X-X

Ammo Loc Shots Improved LRM 5 Ammo RA 24 (1 Ton) Improved LRM 5 Ammo RA 24 (1 Ton) Improved LRM 5 Ammo RA 24 (1 Ton)
Equipment Loc Active Probe [Clan] HD (1 Ton) CASE [Clan] RA Jump Jet LT (0.5 Tons) Jump Jet RT (0.5 Tons) Jump Jet CT (0.5 Tons) Jump Jet CT (0.5 Tons) Jump Jet LT (0.5 Tons) Double Heat Sink LA Double Heat Sink LA Double Heat Sink LL Double Heat Sink RL
Variants: - UM-FBS: The "Freebirth Stravag! variant trades the Active Probe for an extra half-ton of armor (giving it maximum armor) and a Small Laser in the head. It also has the following design quirks: + Combat Computer* + Improved Cooling Jacket*: Improved Large Laser. It is literally right next to two Double Heat Sinks, after all. + Improved Sensors: Improved electronics render the separate Active Probe redundant, allowing weight to be saved for the Small Laser and additional armor. + Searchlight* – Bad Reputation*: Still an Urbie, even if it is the most terrifying Urbie ever. – Cramped Cockpit: The Small Laser is just crammed into the head without much effort to careful. 2 out of 7 UM-FBS units do not have this problem. – Difficult Ejection: The Small Laser is just crammed into the head without much effort to careful placement. 2 out of 7 UM-FBS units do not have this problem. – Poor Life Support: The heat from the Small tends to interfere with the cockpit's temperature regulation. – Non-Standard Parts: Lots of Inner Sphere parts were used in the construction of this variant, and they don't always mesh well with Clan parts. 2 out of 7 UM-FBS units do not have this problem.
Notes: - Yes, I designed an UrbanMech that goes 86.4 kph. No, I do not regret it. - I used my own software to speed up the design process. - The negative design quirks of the UM-FBS are a result of ad-hoc construction, but they will eventually get ironed out when it enters full production... Especially after modern Clan tech becomes available, enabling it to be upgraded with ER Lasers and very close-range capable missiles.
-------------
Credits to the original UM-WTF go to Grey's Shadow, who wrote Where are those LRMs coming from?
The mech is designed to embrace the concept of Bracket Fire and exploiting cover to increase its survivability as it rains death down upon its enemies, unseen.

A few questions, regarding this alternate history Clan Invasion: - Are Targeting Computers a thing yet? And if so, is it exclusively the Inner Sphere version, even though the Clans have it and the Inner Sphere doesn't? - Is Clan [Redacted] still around? (Not really a tech question) - Would Prototype Streak LRMs be a thing like Prototype Streak SRMs? - Are the not-yet-existing Inner Sphere equivalents of ER Small, ER Medium, Medium Pulse and Large Pulse Lasers available to the Clans? - Can the Clans build Light Fusion Engines and Small Cockpits if they are low on resources? - Can the Clans use Anti-Spalling Buffers? - Since this is an alternate History, would the Clans be fielding any Heavy Lasers (with the Large version weighing an extra ton)? - Would Clan Coyote develop Multi-Missile Launchers as an ancestor to ATM systems? - Would MRMs (or rather, "Reloadable Rocket Launchers") exist?

-Targeting Computers were prototyped in 2850 and reached production in 2867, so if it's put on a 'Mech or vehicle it's not going to be a production variant. -Prototype Streak LRMs are not yet a thing -The Large Pulse Laser was already a thing, also there's an "improved" version available to the Clans that's on like pg 95 or 96 of I-Ops or so. No inner sphere equivalents of the ERs are available but the clan-made prototype systems are available (See Interstellar Operations Pg.97)
As for the rest, I'll basically just say the current design requirements hold.

Fair enough. I still wish Anti-Spalling Buffers were canon.

There should be ER lasers around. The 2750 book had them in it. It shouldn't be the clan upgraded ones, but the Star League versions. That is if this is still running off of the story they left with Kerensky.
If this is so, all Star League tech should be open to them.

Aye, that's precisely the intent.

But anything that the Clans improved upon by the time 2850 rolled around, they will use that version instead. We might also see some a lot more upgraded Star League mechs, and maybe even a few Interim Clan-tech equivalents to Inner Sphere mechs that didn't come into existence until later. I say equivalent because obviously, it wouldn't be the same mech, just a similar design.
For example, in this alternate timeline, the Bushwacker might be a 2850 Interim Clan Mech: - The Star League ER Large Laser is replaced with an Improved Large Laser and a Targeting Computer. - The XL Engine, CASE, and Ferro Fibrous Armor would all get an upgrade to their Clan counterparts. - The Autocannon 10 might get replaced with something else, like Clan [Redacted]'s Enhanced ER-PPC, and the weight saved by switching out that weapon and its now vacant ammunition would go to some extra double heat sinks. - The Machine Guns and their ammunition are exchanged for ER Small Lasers. They're not quite the overpowered monsters we know them as today, but they certainly increase endurance and battlefield effectiveness. - The LRM-5s are replaced with an Improved LRM-10 paired to Artemis IV FCS. - The chassis is switched to Endo Steel, saving enough weight to install Jump Jets. - Any leftover weight would go to some basic electronic warfare equipment, such as an Active Probe and an ECM Suite. - The Bushwacker 2850 is given the ability to Torso Twist.
