First found in a prototype form on the star-league era Argo-Class Dropship prototype, the Daisy-Chain Collar Network is variable-weight equipment for Dropships represented in tonnage that is allocated to the Dropship as though it were cargo, and a large dropship with a Daisy Chain collar network can carry several dropships up to the tonnage allocated to the network.
Ex:A large Dropship has a 2,500 ton Daisy Chain Collar Network. The dropship can carry 1 1,900 ton Leopard Dropship and 1 400-ton Vampire Dropship (combined weight 2,400 tons <= 2,500 tons) but couldn't carry 2 Leopard Dropships (3,800 tons > 2,500 tons).
Daisy Chain Collar Networks are relatively rare, usually restricted mobile base designs and very large (behemoth size) Dropship-carrying dropships that are virtually permanently attached to Jumpships or Warships in order to substantially increase the number of small Dropships they can carry. For instance, a Union usually takes up one docking collar, but a large dropship could instead take that spot with 36,000 tons of Daisy Chain Networks to carry 10 Union dropships.
There are some variants of the Overlord that replaces their fighter squadron with cargo and 400-to-600 tons of Daisy Chain network for carrying an extra Vampire or Vampire II Dropship.
