In an endeavour to revitalise the Brand I have suggested that an anime (or using CGI) is used to develop re-awareness.

Thus with re-awareness of the Brand this would enable the games supplements to gain shelf space in the local game shop etc.

If an anime was established do you think it could revitalise the Brand and would you view / purchase it if it came out on DVD?

Also where do you think it should Start …

Something Similar to the Computer Game’s opening … or expand upon this?

Or first Season – Start with the Star League prior to its fall – going through its fall all the way up to the exodus;

Second Season – Jump to The Warrior Books – prior to, during after the 4th Succession Wars

So, what are your thoughts – do you consider this a good or a bad idea?
Get thee to Coventry … Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious by this daughter of Tharkad … Our army shall march through. Well to New Avalon tonight.

I said it in another thread, but it seems to have jacked that thread a little.

Not just an anime should be considered here, but even live action movies would work. Budget may well decide it, but you could do something decent without hiring a bunch of overpaid hollywood actors. CGI has come a long way since even starwars, and has come down in price, were a good computer and program can make spectacular effects.

I would think starting the first episode(s) off in the Star League time. Maybe a few battles following a major group, or just the last ones to retake earth. If it did well, or if the series does very well, you could do some out takes of the succession wars. More history for the viewers. The early 3000's might be a good place to start the main story, as it seems to be what started the game.
Following some units, even though trying to get the rights to them might be impossible now, ie Eridini Light Horse, and following them thru some of their battles. Interjection with other units to showcase the conflict going on at that time.
The Dragoons would be another one, which may be even better, as they worked for and against all houses.

Following the books may leave out some exciting things, as well as deny you the ability to do some things that may not be canon, but could be corrected to remain canon. Such as a strike on the house leaders, like Hanse being attacked an the unit being followed may well be the ones to save him. More then a few movies diverted away from books, but this could be good if written right.

The issue with the computer games is the 'shields' that the units have. The first person shooters show you getting hit by some weapons, yet take no damage, and the enemy doesn't seem to miss. A turn based top down view like the Cresent Hawks with major updates could well be something to consider. The mech commander series seemed to have a good run. And that was real time concepts. HBS seems to have a hit as well. I haven't played it, but it looks like it could renew interest in the game.

And as was stated in the other thread, advertising needs to be done. Some people didn't know the games were from a board game.
