Description:

--- The Battle King is a 2750 Star Legaue-Era 100-Ton Assault Mech primarily within the Juggernaut and Fire Support Roles. Most variants of the Battle King excel at close range and urban combat. The "-1B" is the base variant, and one of the original three models. Two of these have SLDF "Royal" Variants. The "-1B" Makes use of Six Vehicle Flamers partly because they are one ton lighter with their ammo than six regular Flamers, but mostly to use Inferno Ammo, giving the "-1B" an absolutely devastation Anti-Infantry / Anti-Vehicle Weapon. Like every single variant of the Battle King, the "-1B" runs really hot, and requires bracket firing and careful management of heat levels. The "-1B" is designed to accept a field refit which swaps out the Six Vehicle Flamers for Six Machine Guns and a full ton of ammo for them, divided in half ton lots betwixt the BattleMech's legs. This "-1G" variant adds a ton of armor as well, and is usually used when the mission calls for NOT torching everything to the ground with reckless abandon.

Description:

--- This is the SLDF "Royal" variant of the "-1B" Battle King, nicknamed the "Big Boy". It uses advanced technology such as Artemis IV and ER PPCs, alongside Double Strength Heat Sinks to achieve total superiority over the "-1b" model. Six Machine Guns come standard so as to eliminate the threat of exploding Flamer Ammo. as with the standard "-1B", the "-1Bb" is designed to enable a field refit of the original Six Vehicle Flamers and their two tons of ammo. This "-FB" variant, nickamed the "Flamin' Baby", strips out a ton of armor to achieve this and as could be guessed, is intended to offer the pilot the option of utilizing the highly dangerous Inferno Ammo.

Description:

--- The "-1C", "Odd Charlie", or "1DC" is the so-named variant in the Battle King line which incorporates a radical departure from the rest of the 'Mechs found therein. The "-1C" is notable for being regarded and beloved by Kuritan Commanders as a "One Mech Garrison" due to its ability to fend of Infantry, Vehicles, other 'Mechs and even Battle Armor later on. It's performance against the "Toads" in the the Clan Invasion would all but ensure that the majority of Civil War-Era variants would be Kuritan in nature. As such it gained the moniker "1DC" for it's association with the Draconis Combine. This 'Mech sports no Hand Actuators, but rather mounts weapons in a forearm "pod" making maintenance a snap, a trait shared by the rest of the chassis.

Description:

--- This is the SLDF "Royal" variant of the "-1C" BattleMech. Many in the SLDF would refer to this 'Mech simply as the "Crispy ****" due to it's heat heavy armament. A set of Large Pulse Lasers is paired with a set of ER Large Lasers to give this 'Mech excellent range control. A quartet of Medium Pulse Lasers rounds out the complement while Artemis IV enhanced SRM-4 and LRM-5 systems help to finish off damaged foes regardless of whether they are attempting to escape or close. This particular variation of the Battle King line saw extensive deployment on colder worlds both for offense and the garrison or defense of important locations.

Description:

--- the "-1E" is a very interesting spin on the typical offerings found on the Battle King product floor. while the trademarks of the Battle King line are Short-Range, Energy Heavy Juggernauts with a tendency to run really, REALLY hot; the "-1E" takes this and turns it a bit on it's head. Being effectively a direct competitor to the Charger, the Battle King "-1E" also mounts an expensive 400XL Fusion Engine, propelling it up to a respectable max speed of 64.8 km/h. That is where the similarities end however, as the "-1E" is designed for long-endurance Scouting, Combat Patrol and Recon in Force as well as being highly effective in Urban Combat. An Endo-Steel Chassis makes room for the weapons and the four tons of Communications Gear that allow this version of the Battle King to establish Satellite Uplinks. A Beagle Active Probe and Target Acquisition Gear rounds out the -1E's electronics package.

The Battle King line, especially the 2750 line, are well known for their luxurious cockpits... the envy of Thunderbolt pilots everywhere. This roomy cockpit is further enhanced by a ton of additional cargo stowage allocated within the BattleMech's Head and by a ton of liquid stowage allocated within the BattleMech's Left Leg. The cargo stowage is readily accessible from the cockpit, while the liquid stowage is piped through the BattleMech's chassis so as to be readily accessible from the cockpit as well. Further, the liquid stowage is accessible from the ground via a tap on the Left Leg. As time would go on, this variant would eventually receive a Full-Head Ejection option for factory fresh models dubbed the "-ES" or the "E Special" The "-1E" and the later special "-ES" would both be built with the option the field refit a Guardian ECM in place of the Beagle Active Probe by design, and such changes would be noted as "-EG" or "-SG" to distinguish them.

Description:

--- The "-1Eb", a rarity among rarities is simultaneously the SLDF "Royal" variant of the "-1E" and an SLDF "Royal" Command Mech, sporting a Star league-Era Mechwarrior Cockpit Command Console worked into it's already infamously luxurious accommodations. Very much like the "-1Qb" variant of the Battle King, the "-1Eb" sports a meager seventeen and half tons of armor. In keeping with the "-1E" however, it mounts a 400XL Fusion Engine within an Endo-Steel skeleton. Unlike the "-1E" that sired it, however, the -"1Eb" has no provisions for extra stowage of any kind. It also features half the Communication Gear of the "-1E" and a completely different payload. The "-1Eb" is heavily focused on commanding from the rear, and mounts an eclectic yet dangerous array of short range weapons; namely a brace of six SRM-2s and six Medium Pulse Lasers. These are supported at range by a pair of ER Large Lasers to give it some reach. In addition to this, the "-1Eb" is the only Battle King variant to sport CASE protected ammo. The single ton of SRM-2 in each of the -1Eb's Side Torsos benefits from it's own CASE to help defend the fragile XL Engine. The three tons of Communication Equipment help the Commander or his would be chauffeur to continue their command in some capacity in the event that one of the two ended up buying the farm. As such, this ensured that the "-1Eb" would become the Command 'Mech of choice for high level Commander's and their seconds... which would also ensure it's scarcity and near extinction during the era of chaos that was the Succession Wars.

Description:

--- This variation on the "-1B" Battle King is something of a wild card in that it was designed from the get go as a dedicated Fire Support platform. It also differs from rest of the line in that it was not explicitly designed to mount Vehicle Flamers in place of the Machine Guns as a field refit. This did not stop enterprising pilots however, and the unofficial "-1H" variant does just this, albeit with the caveat that it mounts a meager seventeen tons of armor as a result. At any rate, the "-1J" features a complete redesign of the Side Torsos found on the "-1B" it was derived from in order to sport a pair of LRM-15s alongside a set of PPCs for both Direct and Indirect Fire Support missions. Three tons of ammo keep the LRMs adequately fed, although extended engagements could exhaust them. The "-1J" and it's unofficial sibiling the "-1H" are known by the monikers "Joker" and "Harlequin" respectively.

Description:

--- Known as the "Queen", the Battle King KNG-1Q is one of the three 'original' variants of the KNG-series Battle King Assault 'Mechs offered. The other two being the -1J "Joker" and of course the -1B "Battle King" Of all these variants, however it was the Queen's low-tech cost-conscious approach that would ensure the Battle King's survival throughout the ravages of the Succession Wars. despite being built with Single Strength Heat Sinks and off the shelf weaponry, the "-1Q" was nevertheless just as fearsome of an opponent during the four Succession Wars which it fought in as it was back in 2750 when newly minted models were still walking off the line reeking of that new 'Mech smell. Like most entries in the Battle King line, the "-1Q" is geared for short to mid range combat and fulfills the Juggernaut role. This model would also receive an SLDF 'Royal" variant and when the Helm Memory Core was finally recovered by Grayson Carlyle, these "Royal" variants would once more walk off their assembly lines... new 'Mech smell and all. It is worth noting that the "-1Q" can by design field refit a brace of six Vehicle Flamers with two tons of ammo in place of the six Machine Guns which come standard. This refit is referred to as a "-1F".

Description:

--- The SLDF "Royal" variant of the 'Queen" sports a number of drastic departures that differentiate it from it's humble progenitor. Namely the use of a 400XL Fusion Engine and an Endo-Steel Chassis which were lifted directly from the "-1E". As a result of this, the "-1Qb" was graced with a cockpit that, while less spacious than it's luxurious parent, is far more ergonomic than any other Battle King model from 2750. This, coupled with it's fearsome, if unorthodox, close-range arsenal resulted in pilots affectionately referring to it as the, "Queen Bee". A pair of ER Large Lasers let's the "-1Qb" stand and fire outside of the range of a standard PPC, while six Medium Pulse Lasers and seven Streak-SRM 2s give the "Queen Bee" a ferocious hornet's nest of armor sanding goodness. Due to the existence of the unofficial "Harlequin" modification as well as the Queen Bee's already meager seventeen tons of armor, the "-1Qb" has had it's entire brace of Machine Guns mounted as fixed equipment, and the 'Mech will not start up without them. This would prove highly unpopular with pilots as time moved on and brought with it more advanced weaponry, as the Machine Guns proved to be an ammo hazard with the only ways to work around it being either leaving the bins empty or refitting the bins to house half ton weapons... in the legs. Needless to say, no unofficial Vehicle Flamer variants were made, nor any other variants for that matter, and as such the "Queen Bee" became a rare sight even after the Helm Memory Core would give it new lease on life. Where she IS found she is almost always in her stock configuration, although some custom one offs have been reported among die-hard fans of the 'Mech...
