I've always found that one particularly amusing. I'm wondering just what are these colleges and why can't they get accredation.

maybe b/c they're fake universities who give you a fake diploma if you send them $500 dollars... something like that :-)

What they do is for a fee, give you three things, a diploma with a college name on it, a transcript saying you to enough classes to meet the needs of the above university for a diploma in the field you picked...and finially they will for a few send you "new" transcripts on to a college of your choice so you can try and get the thing credited through a local universtiy etc...
The reason I know this is because a kid I went to school with, who got mostly Ds, got one of these and convinved one of the local Community Colleges to take it and they gave him full credit for it and he was able to get a real diplomia faster.
To me it sounds like a way around things then it does to help you out.

I agree going to school is the best way, the guy I was talking about COULDN'T get into any college because of his grades and went that route so he could. I am waiting for it to back fire on him...now that will be the funniest thing of the century when it happens...

I hate those things. I e-mailed them and told them that I was alrady at Griffith University doing a dual degree and they have doubled the e-mail since then...
I dunno. Maybe it's hotmnail. I log on with MSN and it's like: You have 2 e-mails from your friends and 18.925.369 unsolicited advertisments and/or porn e-mails.
I used up my 250 blocks in 2 days...

Yeah cause wouldn't this qualify as fraud?
If nothing else when he gets to a point where he needs knowledge from one of the classes he skipped to even have a chance at passing it's going to blow up right in his face.
BTW, why couldn't he get better grades? Too much partying? No discipline to study? Something else?

I thought about that but figured it was a little too obvious and was hoping someone had a better explanation. I guess the world really is cut and dry sometimes.

I would say he was just plain dumb, but that is not fair. He just would not learn. They (the school) passed him with Ds so that they would not have to deal with him any more.
He even tried joining the military and scored below the cut off for the ASVAB test. I kid you not, he was bragging about his 31% on the test and when I and another person we both know pointed out that 50% is the cut off, he looked like his whole world fell apart.
He did party, but I don't how heavy or to what extent.
And you are right in away it's fraud, but the school gave him credit so they are the ones who are stuck with him. I just hope no one hires him for anything important cause they will be firing him very soon after wards

I dunno about that, Karagin. I was deemed to be in the top 10% of all Australian students but barely scraped through Uni this year. The simple reason for this is that I am hopeless at Mathematics, and my degree requirements forced me to do fairly advanced Maths courses and Physics; however, I am pretty good at Chemistry and a sight to behold in Biology. I wound up not studying for Chem and Biol (for which I got Credits) and put all of my study time into Maths and Physicvs. I failed Physics anyway and PC'd Math. Maybe this guy is the same.
If he wants it, he'll work for it. Lord knows I did.
