==Overview:==
The idea behind the Dragoon IFV was a simple one, make an APC that can transport and support infantry while on the battlefield but be flexiable enough to be able to withdraw both the infantry and it's self if needed.

==Capabilities:==
The Dragoon has decent fire support for engaging the enemy from afar at the request of the infantry commander who can call in indirect fire from the platoons Dragoons in the form of the LRM5 racks.

The medium lasers come in handy for the suppressing fire during deploying and redeploying of the infantry in battle.

==Deployment==
In service all over the Inner Sphere and the Periphery.

It's more like a super-heavy APC than an IFV - the weapons don't have a lot of bite, about proportional to a scaled-up APC.

That terminology quibble aside, it looks like a good battle taxi. I tend to go slower so I can fit on bigger guns and only carry 1 squad (to avoid losing 28 guys to a shrieking inferno when someone pops the IFV with an Inferno), but 40 tons is at a sweet spot of vehicle designs. Light enough to be fast, inexpensive, yet capable.

I was thinking of calling it an Infantry Support Vehicle, but felt that it was better off as an IFV.

Either way it get's the job done.
