==Overview:==
The Swiftwind mech is some of a rare bird, it's size alone makes it an oddity and to some a liabilty. Others see it as the premier scout or hit and run radier.

Once former Fed-Com general felt these kinds of mechs would make excellent trainers and possibly excellent penal battalion mechs. Luckly his plans to bring this about was cut short when word leaked of his relationship with a student at the academy and the insuing scandal rocked the whole planet as well. Seems our asteamed general was quite the ladies man, and the roads of conquests went in all directs and age groups.

But seeing promise in the Swiftwind the AFFC ordered a batch 500 built for use on Periphery border worlds and as garassion mechs for miltia and police forces on worlds that had a tendecny to riot over the smallest things.

==Capabilities:==
The Swiftwind's main advantage is it's speed. If it tries to fight it will die, that seems to be enough for most of the pilots to come in fast unload with it's lasers and get out just as fast as they came in.

Running away to fight another day is their motto.

==Variants:==
Of the 500 made 5 were sent to NAIS for testing and to see if anything could be gained from their continued use.

Rumors suggest that NAIS has cooked up some even faster versions with MASC, TSM and engine superchargers on them, but no offical word as been released on the subject.

Not bad for an extremely light mech. I noticed that you put full armor on the head, a good idea, but I also remember that some stock mechs near this tonnage took a point or two off the head to put in easier to hit areas (in this case, the center torso is one point short I see)

Aside from that, it is very fast, reasonably armed (15 damage from something that small is quite reasonable), although the cost might be high for the design purpose, I can't remember costs of FASA designed light mechs.

I know an attempted mechwarrior (extreme munchkin) who would probably be torn to shreds by 1/3 the cost of any of his mechs in these little things. (His typical mech cost about 30,000,000, and was almost killed by a stock Spider in one fight, a few of these would destroy him)

Try a couple against him if you get the chance. I do see your point out the armor...a small change and that can be redressed.

Nitpick: Swiftwind is the name of a scout car in TR:3025.

Looks good otherwise, like a faster version of the classic player Locust rebuild.
