I don't think I like this new post rating thing. It opens the door to some unnecessary pettiness. There's enough trouble with flames here that adding a formalized system of saying "I think your thread is stinky" doesn't add much.

Yeah, we've been pretty good lately, but when someone advocates a position that isn't popular with, say, Clan players, it allows the poster to be flamed in a new way.
It also lets shameless authors immediately give themselves 5-star ratings on their posts. Me, for example. It rather calls into question the value of the rating results.

Ok...IMHO it's a trival thing...if someone wants to inflate their egos by adding stars to their name then that's their business. I would rather talk about things and argue the merits of a topic then worry about stars and ratings...this isn't TV so ratings are not important.

The flame wars are kinda like the star league. Dead and only a memory. ( I remeber first comming here a year ago ) Everything is better it seems now and everyones kinda united under the "BASH WIZKIDS" theme. And those who are for wizkids are being civil as well. As far as the little stars are concerned. Its just another toy like the smilies! relax.
