I was browsing the DP9 heavy gear website and it said the Naga was a Southern Colonies designed Gear. Now if memory serves, wasnt the Naga a BattleTech Clan inception? So whats it doing being used in HG? The graphic with it also seemed to look vaguely like the Naga of clan lore. Whats up with that?

The Naga is a Clan Artillery Omni-mech. My first encounter was in Ghost Bear's Legacy, but it is in the 3055 readout, I think.

The Naga is a Wolf (I think) Clan OmniMech permanently fixed with a pair of Arrow IV systems. There is no real resemblence between it and the Naga Strider from Heavy Gear, since the strider carries four antitank missiles over each shoulder, has three sensor arms, and moves on wheeled legs, while the OmniMech has five Arrow missile ports per laucher and is increadibly slow.

A Naga is a mythical creature with a human (or human like) head and a serpentine body. It is public domain, and cannot be the basis of a lawsuit.

You might want to email WK about it and let them deal with it....

I didn't have my 3055 TRO with me (and still don't) so I wasn't sure of weight or speed - I just remember that it looked really clunky.

Unless said mythical creature wishes state representation in a court of law for any type of mental anguish caused by being the namesake of a badly armored mechanized entity.

So is the word Droid and Stormtrooper, but try using either in your fiction and you will have Lucas on your case so fast your head won't have time to spin...

Despite my more unusual connections, I have heard nothing of mythical creatures planning to lower themselves to the human standard by resorting to lawsuits. They prefer the more noble problem solving method of "just eat them"
