Okay that's the mech and as far as Mechworks goes it's legal...as far as CURRENT rules go it's not. If you want to use it go ahead.
I used it once...more as surprise look what you ran into mech, and the guy who had to fight it didn't like it at all.
Enjoy it.

Good, but not good enough to take the title of ultimate munchie from the Wave Motion Machine.
Real mechwariors pilot IS mechs.

Thit is not excessively munchy. It is a wonderful use of a Long Tom in a mech, but not excessively munchy.
A 35 ton mech with high mobility, 2 (or 3) medium X-pulse lasers, and a targetting computer, now that is munchy. (easy head shots)

*opens his mouth to begin a lecture on correct munchkinism*
*reconsiders*
*sighs*
1) Munchkins obey the rules 2) This 'Mech sucks.
I think you can figure it out from there.

as is any use of a Long Tom (the level 2 artillery piece) on a 'Mech.
What a Targeting Computer has to do with head shots is beyond me, but a fast TC+XPL boat is pretty munchy, for an Inner Sphere 'Mech.

Hey Braindead, did you miss the part above where I said it was built using MECHWORKS?
No wait I know you didn't. And it's NOT Illegal since you can use it as HOME TECH mech and thus avoid that all together.
But no I forgot you want to start an issue over this as you do with anything you find beanth you.
So one last time DON'T COMMENT OR POST on anything I say as I asked nicely the last time. I have no wish to entertain your comments since they are nothing but baiting and at worse flames.
Thanks.

Bob,
I asked you not to comment or reply to my posting mostly to avoid this kind of crap.
Yet you can even honor that, I know Slayer asked you not as well. I am sending him an email once again asking him to deal with you.
Now to address your problems.
1. No rules were broken. The mech was built using MECHWORKS which came out back in 1994. Long before a lot of the revision where made to the rules as far as what can be put on a mech.
2. Munhkins don't obey the rules, they bend them to the point of breaking to win...
3. The mech doesn't suck.
Now if you reply to my posting again I will consider it an attack on me and I will again talk to Nic about what can be done to stop you and your crap.
You are doing nothing but trying to start a flame war and showing that like others out there in BT land you can't stand others having an opinion or differening of ideas.
So enregards to others around here, I do not wish to converse with you on this anymore.
Thank you.

1) By Battletech rules, it has NEVER been legal to split a weapon between more than two locations. Go ahead. Just TRY and prove me wrong. 2) Yes we do. We REVEL in following the rules. 3) Yes it does.
And, Karagin, nothing says you have to read my replies.

>>>Hey Braindead, did you miss the part above where I said it was built using MECHWORKS?<<<
Which clearly has no bearing on whether or not it's legal, now does it?
And you know I'm not braindead. Do think about it.

Under "Step 10. Complete Critical Hit Tables."
"The criticals for AC20 type weapons, Arrow IV missile systems, and artillery weapons (Long Tom, Thumper, and Sniper) can be split between adjacent locations."
Also in the 1994 hardcover edition of the compendium, pg 102.

Yes, between adjacent locations.
But no more than two of a Battlemech's locations are ever mutually adjacent.
The Arm is adjacent to the Side Torso and the Side Torso to the leg, but the Leg and the Arm are NOT adjacent.
Therefore if you split it between three locations, you have split it between NON-ADJACENT locations, which is not expressly allowed.
Further clarifications were made in later rulebooks. Mechworks had it wrong.

Well, in this case, you've got LA to LT to CT to RT. Seems like one adjacent location to the next. Now, if he'd left off the CT, I'd agree, but as it stands, I've got no problems with it.
In fact, the compendium says that you can put a Long Tom on a 'Mech, but it requires 30 crits. The arm can hold up to 10 (assuming removing the hand and lower arm actuators) and the side torso can hold 12. That's only 22 crits. Ergo: if you can put a Long Tom on a 'Mech and two locations can only hold 22 of the 30 crits required, then you must be able to split between more than two location (although all locations must be adjacent to at least one other).

And with that in mind, it seems that is excatly what Mechworks does...follows the same line of logic you went with.
Great minds must think a like.
