==Overview:==
The Arcubalista is product of a six-year joint development between the FWLN
and Nitor AeroSpace. Originally conceived as an inexpensive high-acceleration
courier for fleet to planet liaison work, the Arcubalista project has become a
bloated pork barrel for Nitor excutives and various memebers of the FWL Naval
Prourement Board. The Arcubalista's mission profile has been changed four
times to justify the gold plating given this fighter.

This has cause pressure from several memebers of the FWL Paraliment to
criticize the FWLNPB and force them to approve a cheap fighter to balance the
overall cost. Thus the Funda fighter was pushed into production.

The Arcubalista is a heavy fighter deployed in traditionally a light fighter
role.

Wow, has it ever! This is actually strikingly Hammerhead-ish, you know, although it at least has dual LRM-15A4s--to its credit. This would make a pretty good Level 1 medium fighter, actually--think of it as having 1xLL and 2x LRM-20, and 20SHS.

That is the point!

Seems some of the CEOs at Nitor felt that could milk this one to death and so did a few Parliament members of the FWL Parliament...hence you have something that isn't what it should be...more of Sgt. York then anything else.

And it's not like you'd have to dig for examples, hey?

In terms of constructive comments, well...there's not a whole lot you can do with a 400XL engine on an 80t bird...make use of that high thrust and change one of the LRMs (and 1t ammo) to 4 more ERMLs and 5 DHS. That'd give you a 30pt close-in salvo, but still leave one 12pt long-range attack. Or you could add more armor. Any really major change would require stepping the engine down.
