Below is the link to the review of Stackpole's new MWDA book... Amazon Review
Seems pretty cut and dry as well a repeated theme but that is my opinion based solely on the given info on the site.

"Seems pretty cut and dry as well a repeated theme"
They have to start somewhere. Why make things super-complicated right from the start?

Why use the same plot ideas over and over and over again? Maybe they should give a little credit to the fans and reader on the ability to understand complex ideas and not the same soap opera storylines.

Ask Hollywood. The last truly original plot came out in the 20's or 30's.

So if Hollywood does it then it's okay...geesh what an answer...I think Stackpole can do better or is he banking the idea of all the fans he didn't tick off with eassys rushing out and buying the book?

You concluded that there is nothing new in this book from 2 sentences? I would like that skill, it takes me at least the back cover of a book to tell if the plot is a simple repeat.

...maybe it's time for you to shut up?
You have no evidence to support this line of argument. You're just making yourself look foolish, and chances are you'll look even more the fool come December.

Hello mister kettle, the write up on the book at the site talks about the character's identiy becomming known it will cause problems, funny Stackpole has already done up one series like this, you do remember the books about Justian Allard and his secrete role as a spy and all that?
And then there is the plot in Sword and Dagger...right I am being in foolish here okay....if you say so Bob.

If the write up on the back doesn't impress me, then I don't buy...and this one doesn't. Now if it impresses you then preorder it and I hope you enjoy it.

My comment was that I was impressed with your apparent ability to recognize a used plot in two sentences. I have made no personal opinion of this book myself until I can see a bit more about it.

Ok...and I replied that since that is the write up Amazon is using to sell the book, it doesn't impress me and seeing how it spells out the lost id of the main character it is an over used plot already in the game...
Not are to see that from what is giving...and again if you find the write up to be interesting then order the book now before it sells out.

>>>the write up on the book at the site talks about the character's identiy becomming known it will cause problems,<<<
Sure. And THAT'S a problem unique to one character.
That's like saying of a soldier "if he gets shot, he might die."
Criminey. It's a bad *write-up*. It says NOTHING about the book.
