What do you guys think of this:

A disclamer: I do not have the exact specs with me while posting because they are about 500 miles away

Indomitable Class Battleship:

Guns: 50 NAC 40 (15 front, 15 each brodside, 5 rear)
50 HNPPC (5 front, 8 R/L F, 5 Broadsides, 8 R/L Rear, 3 Aft)
In each of 8 arcs: 10 UAC20, 10 Gause, 10 LPL, 10 LRM-20+ART, 10 PPC)

Each ammo consuming weapon has enough rounds to fire for 200 turns.
Cargo: ~5000MT

Overview: The new Clan Wolf (in-Exile) Warship, the Invincible is designed with fighting off multiple older (star league era) ships that most clans rely on. Boasting 100 Warship scale weapons and a plethora of anti fighter weapons, it can hold off a fleet on it's own. It carries more fighters than any other warship save the FWL's Thera class carrier. It's usual patrol complement of dropships is 3 of the new Hunter class attack dropships (permenantly attached), and other clan dropships usually carriers or Titans to increase it's already sizeable fighter complement. This is used as the base of a planetary defense ring, adding a few other dropships and perhaps another smaller (and more manuverable) warship. On the offensive, the three Hunters remain, but 5 of the new, massive Harbringer dropships allow the Indomitable class to bring a full galaxy of mechs to a planet, repeating the role of the McKenna class Warship (a 1 ship invasion force). Measuring 1650 meters long, this massive ship will inspire fear in both Clan and Inner Sphere space. Only 4 of these mightly warships are online as of Jan. 3072, but a fifth will be completed by the end of the year and ready for combat 6 months later. The Inexorable, the current flagship of the Clan Wolf (in Exile) fleet, has an extra Docking collar outfitted near the bridge to accomidate the Khan's Keshik. The other warships of this class are the Indomitable, the Invincible, the Agonizer, and (currently under construction) Tormentor.

Use 56 NAC/35s instead of 50 NAC/40s. You can only put 1 NAC/40 into a capital weapons bay, but you can put 2 NAC/35s in a bay, meaning the bays would do 70 rather than 40 capital points of damage per hit.

This is a good suggestion, (and something I considered when building), but for the same tonnage (if i remember correctly) you get 40 more points of warship scale damage . Also, I prefer to just pay for the extra tonnage for extra weapon bays.

Do recall armor threshold. There are now book designs that can survive 40pt capital weapon hits without exceeding their armor threshold. Only (to my knowledge) the Leviathan 2 can survive 70pt hits without armor penetration.

Armor threshold is kewl. It represents the idea that since warship armor covers such huge areas, you might get local penetration from a single hit long before armor is effectively stripped from a location.

Basically, it's 1/10th of the *original* armor value in a location. A warship with 250 capital armor points has an armor threshold of 25 (and a warship with 251 points in a location has an armor threshold hold of 26). If a shot hits that does damage equal to or greater than the armor threshold, you get to roll for critical hits.

Hence, a full weapons bay can be a pretty mean thing.

And AT2 is kewl. It provides rules utterly lacking in BS (interface of fighters with the ground, and tames the completely overboard orbital bombardment of BS) and (thank god) makes warships reasonably priced. You can make 2-3 billion C-bill battleships, rather than worrying if battleships cost several trillion C-bills like in BS.

I will agree that AT2 has some good features, but I like the combat interface of BS better (the record sheet and squadrons esp) unfortunately, AT2 did away with them

For your listed wieght I believe you may have to much going into the ship as per AT2 rules...

I like the design but it seem like a lot of weaponary for a mere 1,500,000...

No it didn't. AT2 still has record sheets, hence the up coming Record Sheets of nothing BUT Aerotech fighters, dropships and warship etc...the sheets are still there and are very much a part of the game still.

Listen to me...YES THEY ARE. They are done up to be easy to use and very simple to understand.

And if anything AT2 is a lot easier to use then Battlespace.

I really don't want to argue about the fine points of AT2 vs BS online since I use just a mix of both. I just take the record sheets, squadron, rules, and a few other fine points from BS and the construction rules from AT2. Since the mechanics are about the same (unless I missed something REALLY big ) It doesn't matter. But what do you think about my warship, besides I could maximize the weapon bays with NAC35's instead of 40's? (the premise of the warship is that nomatter where, you'll have aleast 5/15 NAC40's hitting and not even the upgraded Leviathen can take that for long....)

By the way, are there stats for the upgraded leviathen anywhere?

For the Lev stats I think someone posted them on CBT...not sure since I can't view those pages.

Your ship is okay...I posted my comments above. To sum up it is a nice brawler and could use a few adjustments to make it a little better. Mostly adjusting the weapons to gain from the max though I feel it may be a little short on tonnage for all the weapons, but I won't know for sure till I check it out in detail.

Like I said in the origional post, it comes to ~5000 tons of cargo, and I did a little toying to get it that high. Though I am considering making it 1.6 million metric tons to get a few 10,000's more cargo space (yes, 100,000 tons extra translates to about 15,000 tons of extra equipment!!!!!)

One problem with it though.. its supposed to be 3/5 not 5/8 wihch would be the root of the problem. Could you post a new one correcting this problem and a few minor points mentioned below?

I believe that I had 5 max sized grav decks btw and I forgot to mention the 20 SML as point defense. Also, (if it is not too much) I planned it to have 160 fighters (my mistake, a typo I didnt catch), each point of fighters divided into separate bays 80 on each side of the ship (read this as two bays of 80 apeice and 40 doors per bay. Also, I have been considering making 1.6MT to see if I could increase the cargo space. what do you think of this idea?

Okay first you can't have 40 doors to launch fighters with, not at level 2. Second so of your weapons break the 70/700 rule that covers what can go in a bay.

I gave it the best over all setup I could...I think this comes close to what you want.

This comes quite abit closer, thought (i might be blind) I don't see the cargo space listed.

Also, why are there so many escape pods/lifeboats? can they hold fewer than the 6 I am thinking of? ALso, could you replace the 200 marines with 300 Battle Armor?

AT2 rules have it setup that you can only have 8 launch doors for fighters and small craft at leve 2. Level 3 allows you to have as many as you want.

The 70/700 rule is that no bay can do more the 70 points of capital damage and no more then 700 points of standard. The bay is considered to be a grouping of one weapon class, like all ACs or all NPPCs. The ARC can do a total damage of all the bays added up. Standard AT2 rule here.

The life boat and escape pods I tossed in to eat some of the tonnage they come in handy...you can have more life boats or a few as you want.

If it is not too much trouble, could you rework it as follows:

1. reduce cargo space from 70K to 5K
2. Swap to NAC40's and add as close to 50 as possible (I know people say I should mount Nac35's, but I see more damage for the tons by a slightly fewer amount of NAC 40's)
3. see origional post for anti fighter weapons and ammo loadout
4. By my count, the escape pods/Lifeboats can hold over 1600 people, a tad much. cut down on them.
5. Change the marines to 300 BattleArmor
6. Get as close to 50 HNPPC's as you can
7. It doesn't matter if it has enough heatsinks to fire every last weapon at the same time. I don't think there are enough warships in the BT universe to actually come at it from 8 sides simutaniously , and if there are , some should fall in one shot from the broadsides and front arc. concentrate on getting the bsides and front to fire consistenly, anymore is bonus
8. NACs go in only brodsides (15), front(15), and back (5) to concentrate them on one ship easily

Okay below is the ship...once again I point that your weapon choice exceed what can go on the ship for AT2 rules...I made the changes you asked for with out breaking any of the AT2 rules...to build the ship you want it almost needs to be a 2 million ton ship. Or you need to drop the cargo down to say 9000 tons total and use the rest for weapons...why do want so much cargo space on a warship anyway?

Actually, I DID want only 9000 tons of cargo. If it is not too much to ask, could you redo it agian? Ifso, (obvously) less cargo space, 80 Gause rifles (10 per side), 80 UAC20, 80 ERPPC, 80 LRM20+ART, -160 HSL, +160SPL, 200 rounds per NAC/Smallgun 400 rounds per UAC (or as close as it comes in the case of LRM's)

Also, As much as i'd like to have a small ship (unlike Captain Quirk) don't you think 25 meters is a tad short for it I was thinking perhaps on the length of 1600m. \

Before I go and redo it, is this new weapon mix on top of what is there already or is it in place of things already there?

The meters of the ship is not important game wise, it's more for the dropships, but I can change that...

Cargo can be changed as well, but even still I don't think you can get all of the Naval grade weapons you orignal listed on to this ship.

the extra anti-fighter weapons should be added on, except in the case of the SPL, which should replace the HSL
also, if the weapons, dont quite fit, I have been considering going upto 1,600,000 tons. Thanks so much for this. How did you get chosen for beta testing?

The Wolf In Exile Flagship is the WiES Werewolf, a McKenna-Class Battle Cruiser. Since the Wolves are not on good terms with the Lyran Alliance, the Kells do not have naval construction yards, and everyone else is too far way, how did they get a ship like that? And with the Wolf propensity for long-range Energy weapons, why would it be armed with point-blank AutoCannon?
