I would like to know what part of the Battletech story annoys you all the most?
Personally I hate the way they killed off Natasha Kerensky during the Refusal War.

The Clan Invasion. About the worst way to handle the return of Kerensky IMO.

Generally, I wouldn't have him return.
But a socially degenerate horde of war-craving barbarians is not very impressive. Something like an actual SLDF returning to reclaim Terra and mediate peace in the Inner Sphere, only to have war breakout due to the degree they upset the Inner Sphere's current balance of power - that would be amusing.

Natasha and Ulric dying, anything KATHERINE Steiner does, the WoBblies, House Liao (From Max on down to Sun-Tzu, but not counting Candace and her offspring), and the death of Omi Kurita.

I agree with you for the most part, however, the most annoying thing about the fiction is the way it went from a space opera, albeit with cookie-cutter "black and white" characters, to "shoot-'em all, kil 'em all" 280 page advertisements. The last fur or five books lakc depth of character or real development of the storyline. Hell they double back on each other.
