LOL, slight failure in communication on my part: the PD guns go in Fore, Aft, and Broadside (with BS only using about 1/2, because of its reduced coverage), and the capital weapons in FL/FR and AL/AR.

Other than that, she looks a very fine souped-up McKenna (McKenna Mk. 2?).
Compared to my Maine, she trades 25% close-in punch and .5G of acceleration, and PD, for massive long-range firepower and 25% more armor...and a spinal mount.
A fine ship.

Hard headed is a good thing!

Actually I have ship that is setup like you are suggesting, it's a lot lighter and is more of a corvette class ship...

Why reduce BS complement by half compared to Fore and Aft? They does not exactly overlap each other and I wonder which one is more commonly being hit; the fore and aft or the broadsides?

I base it on two things:
1. The broadside arc is roughly 1/2 as large as the fore or aft arc; thus 2:1:2 is a roughly even distribution over the hull.
2. My warships would spend most of their time on high-speed passes, thereby using mostly the fore and aft arcs.

Now, this is because of the wacky AT2 arc and FCS rules; for my ideas on that, see my responses in the Kardeesh B'Arkahhr Class Cruiser Dak'hil thread. Ideally PD would be a perfectly even distribution over the warship's surface; or, even better, clustered at those places at which it had the widest firing angles (i.e. on the wingtips, if the ship has wings). And, of course, they'd be turreted.
