==Overview:==
One of the many mechs that ComStar's Mech Research and Devlopment Group (MRDG) had on the drawing board for years, it would take the herendous fighting on Tuykiad to bring this mech into existance.

Precentor Martial gave the okay for 4 Ragnarok to be built. The hope was to see how they preformed and then go into full production.

Unfortunely events in 3057 changed all of that. The Word Of Blakes assault and capture of Terra, landed them a win fall when they captured the MRDG faciality with three of the four pre-production models.

At this time the where abouts of the fourth Ragnarok is unknow, though rumor has it either with the ComGuard or hidden somewhere on Terra waiting to be used to liberate the planet from tryanny that is the Word of Blake.

Quite good.
You know me, I'd trade the SSRM-2s for another 4 MLs ...but doing so eliminates the possibility of (at least under the old rules) using inferno ammo.

Hmmm...not bad...I've always liked PPC/GR combos. Something I might be tempted to do, however, would be to downgrade the PPCs to ERLLs, which would allow you to pile on more close-range firepower, but at the cost of range and a bit of damage potential. If only this were an Omni...

Of course, for long-range encounters, it's hard to beat a config like this one

Thanks...the mech is actually from the SNES Mechwarrior game and I did my best to stay true to it. Though it did have the extra close in wepaons you and Nathan feel it should have...but BT construction and the computer games are like trying to build a space ship out of rubber bands...it can be done but you won't have the same thing in both.

Good point and since I am now on a kick to upgrade my older designs with some of the new tech or revamp them in a new way I will look into adding these ideas.

Overview:
this is a design based on the 'Mech of the same name from the super nintendo video game.

Capabilities:
Designed to hold and defend accquired reality and or bases. the Ragnarok is unable to go toe to toe
with an Atlas but it can take on most medium and light mech lances with some success. A lance of
these 'Mechs is normally assigned to patrol and defend heavily raided bases.

Deployment:
In the last days of the 2nd Succesion War, the loss of precious Star League technology was begining
to show on the battelfield. Star League Technology was gone and Comstar ensured that they alone
held onto the lost technology. 'Mech building companies in the periphery were looking to beef up their forces and so was born the Ragnarok 'Mech. Using simple and well proven weapons, engines and jump jets a rugged and reliable 'Mech was born. The Taurian Concordant was the first to deploy this rugged machine and soon it was the primary assault mech against pirate forces attacking Concordant planets. The Magistry of Canopus soon bought several of these 'Mechs to test out with there forces. The Magistry soon bought the plans for the Ragnarok and begain to produce them.
In 3000 a pirate hunting force from the Outworlds Alliance, The Daniels Avengers, made a stopover in the Concordant and was impressed with this 'Mech and bought three of them. Taking them back to the Avengers home system they soon copied and was producing the 'Mech in their Star League factories. Soon an idea was put forward in 3010 to purchase destroyed 'Mech factories within the Inner Sphere and produce this mech extra revenue. The first 'Mech facility bought was in the Lyran Commonwealth. After two years a production facilty was opened in the Federated Suns, and within another year a plant was opened in the Capellan Confederation. In 3014 we began to discuss the possibilities of a plant within the Combine but these talks stalled when the Combine liason stated the facility would be state controlled. at present the Free Worlds League has rebuffed our attempts to purchase a destroyed facility. So far the greates concentration of the Ragnarok is within the Taurian Concordant and the Lyran Commonwealth. Several Mercenary Units have purchased the Ragnarok with various results.

here it is straight form the game.

I was trying for something close to the one out the novel, but it wasn't working so I went with what I posted.

Your's is very well rounded and I like the fluff. They would make an interesting pairing.

LOL!

I played that till I beat it, bugs and all, and then sold the SNES and the games. To bad they never did a follow up to that game.
