With the discovery of the Gray Death memory core, the Clan wars, and the recent breakthroughs in brand-new battlefield technology, many designs are having new life breathed into them. Solomon Kane Industries continues to experiment in the vehicle market with a new, deadly version of the Vedette medium tank.
The original Vedette's most outstanding feature, aside from its mediocrity, was its mobility. Few tracked vehicles of any size had or have the speed that the old Vedette did. However, it was sorely undergunned and short on ammo, and therefore was only considered an average tank.
With the increase in availability of fusion engines in general, and the technology of the new Light fusion engine, SKI has come up with an even faster, yet more powerful version of this venerable design.
The old AC/5 is replaced by a Lord's Light 2 ER PPC, the same popgun used on the Panther, and the tank sports a missile rack for close in defense. It also has several machine guns, giving the tank good protection against adventurous infantry.
As this tank has yet to be battle-tested, no one knows how it will perform, but simulation tests show promising results, with the Vedette able to use its speed to keep out of harm's way, while picking apart opponents at range. There is some consideration about reworking the secondary weapons package to include 2 LRM 5s and only one machine gun instead of the multiple short-ranged weapons.

Vehicles can only use SHS. You need to spend another 5 tons on heat sinks, or switch to a standard PPC.

I wish vehicles could use DHS, but alas they can't...
Overall the idea is good, just a little tweaking.
