I had this Hetzer wheeled Assault gun I had 4 units in. 2 of them had gun skill 1. Great right. No, they were of course not positioned within the vehicle doing anything. The skill of driver was 8 and gunner was 6. I wanted to get my guys out of the vehicle and into a new one where their skill 1 gun skills would be of better use. Well of course you can't switch the frickin guys around in the vehicle like all logic would say THEY WOULD MAKE THE BEST GUNNER... MAN THE GUN! So I had to bring it to the arena. And guess what, boom, critical hit destroys all 4 of my guys. What a frickin joke. This should change, either be able to take your men out of vehicles if you want, or have the vehicles automatically put the best skilled soldier in place of a worse skilled moron who is going to get them all blown to hell.
Some guys just don't train. I hate them.

NEVER scrap a vehicle by placing it into the arena if you want the guys alive.
thats why randy was convinced to place a scrap vehicle button on the unit page.

If you want to scrap a vehicule, ALWAYS use the scrap button in the Unit Readout. That way you get your guys out, and you get a 50/50 chace of keep the tank intake and put it right back on the field or scrap it for spare parts.

The 50/50 chance of it being kept/broken has always puzzled me. Like a friend of mine says, why do they have to drive it into a wall to decommission it?
Man, I really dont want to get in my car from now on, I`m afraid it`ll degenerate into its component parts when I get out again

yea, I think instead of chance it should give you and OPTION (if the vec is pristine condition). That way our training units and geckos would work much much better. But omsetimes you might also WANT spare parts instead of just the vec (can't think of any examples right now, but...).
I'd also like you to be able to tell the techs "try and get such and such part off it", but I know that'll never happen. I would like to get more 0/0 move parts and weapons off scrapping tho. You usually only get a bunch of wheels, drives, structure, and armor.

I think the 50% thing is for the same reason that Randy don't let us scrap mechs: The old empires would all scrap their stuff and dump it on the market and get multiples of the prices they paid back when... Somehow Randy thinks this is a bad thing.

You could want spare parts instead off the vec if you were in a LW and had not enough money or could not find the parts you need to repair an other damaged vehicule.

It does seem sucky that we cant just buy a mech and get a pilot for it later. Or even swap a pilot from mech to mech. Bit of an arse when your 0/0 locust pilot finally has the chance to pilot something else...
How about if you can only sell scrapped vehcs? Then you could remove the crew, and keep the vehc, but not sell it unless you hit the scrap button... or is that too weird an idea?

OMG if you only scraped you wouldn't have had a problem.
Now if you train in jeeps and then scrap the good pilots then make the hetzer THEY WOULD MAKE THE BEST GUNNER... MAN THE GUN!

I know some of you are going to say that training in jeeps and then scraping is really expensive. Well think about it would you rather waist 1 mill on a training jeep or 10 mill on a striker or such vech. Using training training jeeps pays off.
Not only that but trining in a jeep and scraping is the only way your going to get all your real vechs elete. If you train in the strikers then your going to have a lot of 5 gun strikers or even worse (most likely), but if you trin in the jeeps then you will have batts of 2 or lower gun vechs quickly.
Also if you have a bunch of 5+ gun units they are totally worthless in LW. Only good gun units will be usefull.

Training your speedbump towers is an even better option (till they are all trained). The cost of the unit is already paid for, and the cost per training period is the same as a jeep. They even have the advantage that you can stop training a crappy pilot earlier, opposed to have to keep paying for the training of an idiot if he is with a prospective elite gunner.
