November Custom Miniatures Contest:
Hello all, this month’s contest at BTU.org (www.battletechuniverse.org) is a repose contest. What that means is repose your favorite miniature and give it a new look that the miniature never had before. There are no judges here; it’s all up to your fellow board members to decide upon the results of your work. But, don’t let that stop you. If you think you have the talent, or even just want to compete, then by all means, get cracking!
Rules:
1. All entries must be made of a Ral Partha or Iron Winds Battletech miniature. No other miniatures are eligible (sorry, no reposing Black Angels from B&V!)
2. To be eligible, the miniature must have it’s pose altered by any method, this can be
of any nature or means but the miniature’s pose must be noticeably altered.
3. This is not a custom design or variant contest, there will be no substitution of parts
or the construction of stock variants, unless the stock variant is:
a) Is listed in a FASA or Fanpro Record Sheet manual
b) The miniature meets the conditions mentioned above in part 2
4. All entries must be painted. No unpainted entries will be accepted.
5. All entries must be new work; no entries will be accepted of miniatures already
photographed on the internet.
Questions to contest voters:
Before you vote for a contest entry, please consider the following aspects of the various entries in your voting.
· How well has been the project been carried off? Does it look natural?
· Is it aesthetically pleasing? Has the rest of the miniature (painting and decaling) been given the same level of attention that the pose was?
· Is the repose work more or less complex than other entries? (Please factor in the level of complexity of the subject)
Prizes are as follows:
· 1st Place: 500,000 C-Bills + $20 gift certificate to Exodus-Road Hobbies.
· 2nd Place: 500,000 C-Bills.
· 3rd Place: 250,000 C-Bills
The contest entry period begins today (November 6). You are each allowed to enter up to 2 miniatures each. Please have your entries in by Friday, November 28th. Post any questions you have in this thread. Good luck! Please submit all entries to contests@battletechuniverse.org
