Hi everyone!

As my post says I really don't know what expansion rules to get. I want to get the Master Rules Revised but when it comes to all these other additional source books, map sets, campaign books and technical readouts I'm pretty clueless.

Can someone please help!?!

All I have is the Classic Battletech Boxed Set. I'm trying to drum up some support for the game at my local gaming club but no-one knows much about it there. There are also no stores in the area either so I can't ask at a specialist shop and I have to get everything online from the Ral Partha Europe store or similar for miniatures etc (I live in the UK).

Any pointers will be gratefully received as I think this is a fantastic game and so many people at my local club are missing out on it.

Thanks in advance

Steve

I'd recommend you try to get your hands on BMR:Revised (Battletech Master Rules: Revised) as well as a copy of Maxtech. After that it is totally up to how freakishly in love with the game you are, and which parts of the history intrest you. I'd caution you to not spend copious ammountsif you don't have anyone to play with though.
I find that 'pinpoint' accuracy during a bombing run increases proportionally with the amount of munitions used.

Sure, tgsofgc is right.

The Master Rules revised is the most important Rulescollection.
The Maximum Tech is for Level 3 Rules. (expanded and maybe more complicated)
All the Sourcebooks are more for the roleplaying part in you.
They contain Unit descriptions and what their advantages are.
For the tabletop this is not really needed.
The most important thing is: that you find good people to play with. (here here! but sorry I live elsewhere )
Without them, the sourcebooks will make you a lonely BT- Freak, who knows everything about the BT universe.

After the BMR:R, I'd recommend Aerotech 2 and the Classic Battletech: Companion.

AT2 is currently being revised, so you might want to pause on that.

The CBT:Companion includes a lot of stuff for the roleplaying game, but also rules for battle armor construction.
