Overview
The Dadelus Battlemech Foundry Inc. was founded in early 3060 on the Marik industrial world of Calloway VI. After working for several years as a repair depot and customization outfit for the League governemnt, Dadelus was periously close to bankruptcy. The Duke or Oriente bought up the factory in September of 3064, and placed his cousin, Rolf Hakkon as it's new CEO.
The company then set out on an ambitious program to develop a new line of Battlemechs of it's own. After a year of hard work and determination, the team's first creation, the KNGAR-54 King Arthur walked off the final assembly line.
Named and styled congruent with proto-midevil culture, which has seen a resurgence in the FWL in the past few decades, thie first production run was quickly bought up by the FWLM. The LCCC was satisisfied enough with the new mech to order two more production runs, scheduled for 3066, and '67.

Capabilities
The King Arthur is a true assault 'mech. With it's twin Imperator Code-Red autocannons, the 'Arthur can stand toe-to-toe with just about any other 'mech on the field. It's Fusigon ER PCC and Delta-Dart LRM rack also add destructive and accurate long-rage firepower, which allows the 'Arthur to perform in a fire-support role as well.
The King Arthur's detractors will be the first to note that though this is a newer generation 'mech, it has failed to incorporate an extra-light engine. Although the 'mech is almost ponderously slow by today's standards with it's Dantrus 240 power-plant, it's designers decided that a more compact engine would be more reasonable, as to make space for the bulky autocannons and associated ammunition bins. It was instead decided to use a specialy designed endo-steel chassis as a weight saving measure.
Though slow for it's size, the King Arthur can take a beating. With over fourteen tons of the company's patented Dadelus Fusion-Bond Plate, and a CASE system, the 'Arthur can survive almost any fusilade and come out fighting.

Deployment
Not suprisingly, most of the first production run of the King Arthur was slated for the Knights of the Inner Sphere. As the Duke of Oriente owns the factory the produces the 'mech, he was also able to retain a few of this design for the Fusiliers of Oriente. The lion's share of the next two runs are to be distributed between the KoIS and the Marik Milita units.

There is a Merlin already, it was first seen in the Battletech Box Set rule book 2nd ED, it was the example construction mech, there was a record sheet for it, it was 60 tons. Then later in 3058 TRO they gave it fluff and artwork.

Why do you need a sword when you can have an Excalibur ? Not to mention the Galahad, Black Knight, Lancelot ... I'm sure I missed a few others.

Thats a pretty scary design, sword or not, you'd want to keep your tanks and helicopters far away from that thing, which brings up a point. Maybe every mech in the Knights of the round would specialize in combatating some type of unit? Guasses for mechs, this thing for vehicles? I like this design, XL engines explode too easy, knights should you know, be hard to kill, no?
