I have been converting and painting figs for many years and selling them(mostly 40k ,D&D types but many mechs too). I am familiar with just about every brand of paint available and I have too say the best ones I have found are Vallejo Acryllic Colors, Reaper Pro paints are good too. stay away from testors and citadel paints at all cost. And if money is tight go to Walmart and try out the applebarrel paints(there in the arts/crafts section not toys) they work very very well and for .44 cents to .98 cents each for a 2 oz bottle you cannot go wrong
