dead character - his money ?

Ok, I have money (emergency war chest) stashed away on both a claimed and an unclaimed character .
If both those characters die, what happens to their money ? Does it get returned to the emperor , or is it lost ? Does only the claimed characters money get saved or is both their money safe?

Characters with money on them who die loose the money forever (unless this has been changed). The only exception to this is the emperor, who never has money on him and instead has access to the empire funds, which never go away unless you spend them.

Prevent yourself from loosing that money by claiming the person and scrap it's unit. So it can't be killed, but used for money transfers.

Think they have changed it. Either that or it all of a sudden started raining money when my charactor was killed.

well, if personal funds really do go away I have a question:
I was recently attacked. Until then I had my emperor safely in a little AR-F platoon. trouble was, when I was attacked the guy hit the zone he was in. This guy had a hunter and some switchblades and other such things that are NASTY to infantry. I was online when he attacked, and, fearing that when my emperor was killed I woudl lose all my money, I quickly transfered it to the leader of my tank company.
When my emperor was killed the guy I had transferred the money to became emperor. So here's my question: Is my money now in the empire funds or his personal funds? And should I therefore be worried about losing it?

You emperor can not hold "personal" money. He holds the empire funds. So if you loose your emperor, you don't loose money.
When your Tank commandee with his "personal" money became emperor, the name on the empire page shozld have som $$$ signs next to it. Next time you activate your emperor, his "personal" money will be transfered to the empire funds.
I think I read on the update page, that stored money on killed characters will be transfered to the empire funds also. (Don't know when exactly  )
When you trnsfer money to a claimed character via the "allowance" function - scrap his vehicle to get a save "bank" for your money. Noone can kill a person that isn't in a vehicle.

Characters who die with cash on them have it transferred to the empire funds.
