Here's a thread dedicated to all the mechs whose drawers were inspired by the BT gods to create a truly kickass-looking design (even if it didn't actually kick ass ). Just post your favorite mech, based on looks, and give your reasons why you think it looks so darn good. I'll start it off with my favorite looking mech, the Blood Kite. All those missles and big laser barrels, plus legs that look like they're sitting on oversize air conditioners *drool* (and it just happens to be a good design to boot )!

Several of the Unseen. They defined what Battlemechs looked like; a lot of the later TROs either had crappy artwork or awful-looking mechs, like the hideous Clan mechs of TR:3050.

The Unseen Battlemaster, Thunderbolt, Wasp, Marauder and Shadowhawk were, IMO, definitive of battlemech appearances, and some of the best looking mechs drawn.

Yes, nearly all of Looses Unseens where my start into the BT- Universe. (At the end of the novels where some)
But the Clanmechs also have their right as the killing machines as they were intended.
the whol reseen bunch however.. mmhhm. I donĀ“t own the Phoenix readout, but saw some of them.
Some are okay, but Warhammer, marodeur and others..

For some reason I always liked the Bombardier in MW2:Mercs. I guess that boxy thing with no head (and plenty of room to mod the heck out of ) caught my eye. The T-Wolf is a classic, as is the Atlas and Marauder . I haven't liked many MW:DA 'Mechs until I saw the cover of Milan's book. I think it's 4 Shrikes . Very mean looking.

I prefer mechs that don't look cheesey, so oversized barrels and undersized torsos don't do it for me. Overall I think the Mad Cat is the best looking mech in the game. I also like the Masakari, Daishi, Ryoken, and Nova. I also really like some of the old unseen designs, but since thats not really Btech art it probably shouldn't be included. Some IS designs I think look good are the Jenner, Hauptman, and Catapult.

Indeed. Ever seen the original drawing, from the Invading Clans book? It got re-printed in "Impetus of War", and it looks SOOOO much more menacing in the original form.
Yea, verily. Let it be known far and wide that Nightward loathes MW: DA. Indeed, it is with the BURNING ANIMUS OF A THOUSAND SUNS that he doth rage against it with.

Call me crazy but the Dragonfire to me has always been the best looking mech in my opinion(those invisible hands were always cool).

My favorite InnerSphere mech is the Marauder in any configuration. I just get this image in my mind of a Maruader rising up to its full height both PPC barrels lit up and the target going boom.
My favorite Clan Mech the Masakari. Just point all of those ERPPCs at somebody and ruin their whole day.

For mine, the coolest 'Mech EVAR!!!111 is the AKU-1X Akuma. For those who wish to disagree, check the cover art for The Dragon Roars. It's in your BMR in the colour plate section, too.

I like the smooth lines and strong stature of mechs like the Awesome, Tai-Sho, Pillager, and the Novacat. I also like the hunched low chassis of the Barghest, Vanquisher, and ultimately the Blood Asp. Particularly with the Asp, it just looks like their burdened under the weight of their weapons. The effect is great. And I believe gigantic muzzles overwealming torsos have their place, such as the Fafnir. I also like the Shadowcat, but I'm not sure why...

Yes, Loose was a great artist for the TROs... and Plog's stuff just looks too cartoonish...

Unseen were mostly good... it's just that when some of my friends saw the Locust, they made comments about the medium laser.

Stone Rhino and the Vixen. I am a big fan of the artwork in the 3055 TRO.

I liked the Unseen, too bad they're gone, I liked the original (read- 3050) set of Clan Omnimechs, especially the Summoner, Nova, and Warhawk, and as for IS mechs, I love the look of the Hatchetman, the Mauler, and a few others... When hands disappeared and Omni tech became available to all, Mechs started to all look similar, and when the drawings started looking cartoonish, you could tell the end was near...

I think that the Centurion and the Atlas are tow of the best looking IS designs.
For Clan, the Dire Wolf and Timberwolf come to mind.

Probably the Atlas and the Timberwolf for their very distinctive appearence.
