Buying mechs out of the stable

Basically, mechs should be able to be repurchased from the stable. Here's a simple thought/suggestion on the process.
Nevcash cost based on tonnage (with DP option) Unable to unstable mechs while warring or raiding Unstabled mechs go into main salvage zone Pilots rep reset to 0 Unable to be re-stabled for a nev year Minimum time restriction for when you can unstable; must spend ____ in stable before being eligible (30 nev days?)
A few things. Nev cash cost should be reasonably expensive. Not new mech expensive, but still prohibitively priced to prevent constant shuffling. Rep loss to pilots will hopefully keep unstabling for necessary mechs, such as dp only, since they could put the pilot in a new mech with a minimal rep loss instead.
Obviously my suggestion(s) may need ironing out, but I believe the thought has merrit.

Why reset the pilot's rep?

a- prohibitive action b- ever think about the prize fighter, surrounded by rules and refs to protect him, would get his butt kicked in a real fight or street brawl? I figure pilots moving from practice/arena fights to real war wouldn't be as feared, so why keep the rep?

But pilots keep their rep when moving into the stable...

moving into the stable also costs nothing. There's still nothing stopping you from buying a new mech and moving the pilot into it without losing much rep.

All in all, I like this idea. Losing rep, or keeping it, either way sounds good to me.
--------------------
- Lois: "Peter, how can you tell me to calm down, there are people trying to kill me."
- Stewie: "Really, oh I have so many people to thank. First I would like to thank God, then ummm.... oh yes, SATAN"

I like the idea as well. As long as it is prohibitive enough not to make it common place. Also, it would be cool if we could take stabeld mechs out of training. Of course, the skills would be reset to before they went in. Or raise the limit of 50 stabled mechs?

Honestly, what good is rep OUTSIDE an arena?
In a multi unit senario, only thing a well known fighter might be able to do is increase his sides ability to anticipate the enemy, such as maybe a small init bonus to the side with the higher rep. Max it out at like 3 with a rep of say 50.
And not everyone would know who is who in a battle. Someone with a high rep should show up on the listing as such, since everyone would have to know who they were.
I can understand the wanting to remove some good units out of the stables when replacing, or even adding to an empires rolls.
If sm does as he says he wants to, the dueling stables would be done away with. This would not be an issue if he does. If he doesnt, then i can say some penelties should apply but with limits as well.
Maybe one mech per nev year would be good.

Aside from those emps who have very large mechs in the stable (rhinos and the like), I dont see the requirement for this.
The rep/init system is a VERY GOOD ONE. The only problem with it, is the abuses in recent times with fake raids, which was more to do with cheap upgrades than actually using init.
