Research: Technology Definition via Tech Tree

Some of the Tech is self-explanatory... though, I'd like to know of a few things that aren't addressed... Specifically, Dual-Use Workers, Land Management, Recycling Efficiency, Etc..
I do understand that Research was meant to be a simple segment of Nev, hence no detail description for research, though it would be nice to see at lease simple description beyond the name, if not a more detailed one. I've researched 40 / 100 through Dual Use workers, which has taken me about a years' worth of research so far... I'd like to know if I've simply wasted all that time, or if it'd ever be useful with less than 1000's of RP spent.
Thanks!

Dual use workers is to allow you to produce treasure points. It's pretty much worthless to be honest.

Would it / could it be possible to add a brief description of each technology in the Research Tree results? Since it shows the 'next tech necessary' for research, a small field with a 'look-up' could display some brief info (or how ever detailed someone wouldn't mind writing up).
OR - is there already somewhere that lists the descriptions? To me, SRM-2/-4/-6 is self explanatory, though Land Management isn't as clear (I still don't know).

Might be a good idea to have an encyclopedia under the help tab to define alot of things in the game. I know there is plans for a tutorial to help with thing like new people learning things like, line of sight (los), and such, but for others like what a tech does, isnt gonna be in there.
Land Management is used to reduce the amount paid for land costs. Adding to the tech tree to include a small info packet may not be advisable at this time. It could very well distort the research tree if something isnt coded right.

Should be in game stuff matt. Not everyone wants to be going to personal websites while playing a game. Now if you can get sm off his butt to put it in nev, or have it linked to the site, then it would be 'official'. This is not trying to make this contribution seem less then a good thing. Thank you for going out of your way to make it.

All right, this helped a little: Tent City: A city of maybe 200 or so pop, one of many scattered around the face of Neveron in a mid-level landwar empire so that enemies have to do numerous hotdrops to surrender the empire, and thus pay exorbitant costs to do so.
And while the Jargon helped some (thank you very much), I'm also looking for game-stats or "tool tip" (I hate to word it like that) in an encyclopedia of said terminology... IE: "Land Management: Decreases the cost to purchase new Land Areas @ L1/L2/L3/L4 = 10%/16%/25%/40%" etc....

land management decreases the cost of owning land, not buying new plots. I do agree that would be a HUGE load of help for those just starting. Some tech is based on other tech that isnt used anymore, but you still need to research it in order to get the higher tech. Infantry machine guns is one. Infantry heavy armor is another. Really need to get infantry back in the game.
Knowing what cross training helps and what it doesnt would be nice to know. Will it pull people out of comms if you start up new research, even if you dont have the pop to support both? This is stuff I would like to know, but am too lazy to ask.

Land costs are based on a ratio of how much pop you have compared to how many zones. The more consolidated your pop, the cheaper it is. Land Management brings down the cost for each level. I think there is a chart in the updates archive, but not sure. I know WWS had sent me a breakdown, but I dont have the log anymore as that was on the laptop my **** ex wife took in the divorce and sold because the right click button was stuck. I can tell you land management 12 gives a 54.54% reduction though. 10 or 11 is 50% iirc.
