If it exceeds a certain # of validations, or is within a certain time frame from the last validation you may have to call a MS phone number but they'll just ask, do you have it installed on more than one computer, you say no and they give you the new validation number to put in. I assume you mean you installed it yourself (by 'use an oem version of windows')... that's the best case, because you have total control. However, if you mean you bought an HP or something from Walmart or Bestbuy or whatever that had windows already installed and activated... that can be a different story because those installations can't be reactivated/revalidated except by the company you bought it from. That's not a MS thing, that's the power of the big computer makers saying if you don't buy your upgrade parts from us **** you. So... if you installed, or are installing the OEM COPY of windows yourself, you're good and you can revalidate/reactivate from microsoft several times. I had an oem copy of windows xp back in the day that I used to install on machines to test them, and I must have installed it 50 different times on about 20 different computers. I had to call MS many, many, many times. And they'd have a list on their computer of how many times the license had been activated, but they never gave me a problem.
