You are right...7 does work out better and i think we did go with it, but I would need to double check the notes again to be sure.

I know that for towed tubes we went with a 10 man crew per gun...

I would think those would fall more in line with field-pieces than mortars (ie. a wheeled weapon that the platoon brings with them onto the battlefield). I was thinking about making the mortar the platoon's primary weapon. Though I must admit, bringing a mortar that size onto the battlefield for fire-support would have it's advantages (as long as the infantry doesn't start dropping rounds on top of friendly units ). Would artillery rules come into play at that point, though?

We never really used the offical BT arty rules...more home rules.

The rules we used for mortars was similar to artillery useage...base to hit etc...put no fligth time they are on board after all and could be adjusted easier then offical written for normal arty in the game.

That's true. I think I will have to sit down and put some rules down on paper, and maybe work them into a scenario sometime. Thanks for the input.
