I have a question. How the hell am I to store almost 1,000 books in a semi truck? The sleeper is 5' long 7' wide and about 7' high, you know I do need to sleep there. All of my stuff is kept in a storage unit. I guess I could take a photo of the storage unit but all that you will see is furniture and boxes. All that I keep in my truck is one small box of books, I am really good at packing a lot of stuff in a small area, like having a desktop computer instead of a laptop in my truck, but there are limits.

ROFL! 1000 books in a semi cab. That would be awesome! And well worth a pic if you manage it.

Where the hell do you think movies come from, Books!

Not Always.... and even the ones that CLAIM to be from books are just as likely to have had story line and plot that was similar to a book so some no account producer buys the rights...

I of Course am referring to Verhovens StarShip Troopers vs Heinleins StarShip Troopers...

If you look at most movies you will see in the credits that it says that it was adapted for such and such book.

So you have done the research to verify the percentage of Movies that were based off of a Boook or Short Story?

Quote:

Christopher_Perkins I have a question for you. First, do you read books or novels?

ROTFLMAO

You asking me if I read???

ROTFLMAO... did I leave that out of my profile here?

I Cut my teeth on a Spell for Chameleon that I bought from the Worms AFFES Stars & Stripes Store when it first showed up ins DeutchLannd

Secant, if you do read, how big is your personal library?

15 ft, 15 Shelves, all Paperbacks... at about 1.5 inches per... 1800 Volumes... not counting the ones that i have Swapped

As for my self, my personal library has almost a thousand books in it, and I am not taking about comic books.

About the same... and i have some comic books, traded a lot of them to buy out oa friend of mines battletech collection when a lot of parents were going squirely over D&D

Also, I have read all of the books that I do have a lot more times than just once.

I use Microcrap Word, not only does it have a spell checker that I desperately need, but also a grammar checker that I also desperately need.

I have paid greatly for not caring what so ever for school, when I was in school. You don't go to school because you want to become a OTR truck driver. You become a truck driver because that's the best job that you can ever hope to get. Making 40 to 60K a year for not having any kind of personal life what so ever is not that great amount of pay. Also its very expensive to live on the road. I could easily spend $50 every day just to eat.

I wright to improve my English skills, yes I still have a very long ways to go. I do get quite a bit of praise on the website that I post my stories on, for writing "enjoyable stories", that is if you discount how crappy my English skills are. When you post on a website that has EXTREMELY low standards, its not that hard to get praise for "enjoyable stories".

I never was one that cared for poetry. I would assume that since you're bragging about your poetry, you're quite good at it. Have you ever had any of your work published? I am not talking about websites that will let any crap be posted, like my stuff, but where people that might be hopeful of being paid for there work.

Don't feed his trolling...he has had the same issues on other boards.

Don't given in to his comments, it's not worth the flame war or the locking of the thread. Trust me, been there done that have seen the end results they are not pretty.

Just ignore him and he will grow bored and wander off.

Lots of folks. If you didn't agree with him or let him win he who spin the arguments so off topic and in the flame war area. Just ignore him.

In fact I have not seen him post in a long time.

You may be correct. But still the point is there. No need to get upset over anything said. I found that out the hard way, so I am passing on the free advice.
