Im seeing a pattern here.. 3 importatn ones? how about this.
1:Wolfs Dragoons arrives in the inner sphere, bringing with them Omnimechs.
2:The harsh and suddenly There, splintering of the clans into Pro IS and anti IS factions, from the DC absorption of Nova Cat, to Wolve's fracturing.
3: Rise of the WOB and the threat they will generate and the potential for both chaos And peace. (Sure I might dislike MWDA and WOB, But from a political standpoint, its important for the IS's development.)

In order of importance.
1. Hanse Davion and Melissa Steiner mated.

Arguably Candace Laio and Justin Allard can be tossed in, in the place of 2 or 3. But I think its clear to see that the Hanse and Melissa breeding exacerbated everything going down hill.
